Dang - if I'd only read this yesterday.

I'm using a tunze osmolator w/ a lifeguard? fludized bed filter which has a 3" layer of Kalk sitting at the bottom. So far its been running w/out any problems.

Ok - I'm not going to be fragging this one then The other technique I've heard about and seen in person is to stress the plate enough that it dies / appears to die. Then leave the skeleton in the tank. A couple of months later, babies start popping out from the skeleton. Terrible that the animal has to die w/ this technique though.

How long ago did you frag it?

Yeah - unfortunatly the two ways I know how to popagate these guys are both fairly destructive. Don't think I'd be able to get myself to do it.

I went by to check out the new arrivals. Left with a SHWEEEEEEEEET gold tear drop maxima. Awesome coloration - most of the clams were already open - good relexes to shadows etc. So many A+ clams to choose from - hard a hard time deciding on just one. Colors and pattens are really really nice. Cannot beleive the size of those squamosas either - just massive! Now I need a look down reef setup.

Checked out the clams. Shouldn't have - couldn't resist. Picked up a nice crocea!

Seans got some SWEEEEEEEEEEET SPS for pretty good prices! Nice system he's keeping them in too - polyps fully extended, all healthy.

It probably won't work but what the heck... I'll cut two fresh frags of similar size, dip one in extra saline water and then put them next to each other to grow them out and see what the heck happens.

So a frag dipped in extra saline water won't have the same effect right?
