  1. It depends on if you dose calcium with Kalk, Calcium reactor, or a 2 part, and how often you do water changes (sulfer removal). I've read the RHF articles several times, and I am still confused!
  2. ATI Blue Plus UVL 75/25 GE 6500K Daylight ATI Blue Plus ATI Aquablue Just repeated from the T5 Thread. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthre...mp;pagenumber=7
  3. The latest recommendation from the "grim reefer" on reefcentral is 3 ATI Blue Plus, 2 UVL 75/25, 1 GE 6500K Daylight He seems to be the one person everyone asks about T-5's. I just so happen to have an icecap 6 light 48" setup on my 90, have ordered these bulbs, and expect them delivered tomorrow.. Also, I live in shannondale, youre welcome to come see what it looks like this weekend. Victor Also, I bought them from Reefgeek.com on Monday.
  4. Me too.. Only I accidently put vhendrix instead of victorh on the form when I paid. Thanks!
  5. You can hook up T-5's to the IceCap you already have.
  6. Oh yeah, I did half aquablue and half blue+. It's a crisp white.
  7. Sturnmeyer, This is the tank that made me take the plunge to T-5. This tank is absolutley amazing! Ivan's tank. I bought the Icecap retrofit 8-bulb. I wish I could fit all 8 on my 90 gallon, but could only fit 6. Each reflector is 2.5" wide. Just means I'll have to go bigger :2thumbsup: . I've had the lights on the tank for a week. They are the bomb. I moved from dual 250Watt MH. Victor
  8. Youve never ever done a water change? Backup your thermometer, salinity, amonia, nitrates, and nitrites tests with someone elses test equipment.
  9. I bought mine at the koi fish place we just had the social meet at. I've never seen it anywhere else except online.
  10. ASM!! Love my G4 on the 90. I've not heard anything bad about them.
  11. Dave, sorry, I was talking about the epoxy. I coundnt think of the right word, but I believe I described it correctly. Its actually re-labled and sold as coral epoxy in the LFS. I had the same exact problem with a CA reactor I bought used. After cracking the acrylic, I ended up cutting the bottom 3" off and starting over with it. emissary, you used the stick looking stuff right? It's about the size of a cigar.
  12. I gave them to Lee. He must have forgotten them.
  13. Sounds like the same thing. Its soft with 2 different compounds in it. You have to kneed it up.
  14. Also, in the future, make sure your male pvc pipe is square and chamferred to keep it from scraping away the cement when inserted. Apply glue to both male and female, and then wait about 30 seconds to let it soften before inserting. No dirty jokes here. :idea2:
  15. Plumbers putty will work. Its ugly, but it works. I believe you're supposed to use the primer with the blue stuff as well. Ne0en, the blue stuff is PVC glue that you can use in wet conditions.
  16. Actually after looking it up, I do believe it is Green Pocillopara. I dont know for sure.
  17. It's a sony DSC-F828, 8megapixal. Rob, wish I knew. I am new to SPS, and the right person to ask at the LFS wasnt there when I purchased it. Thanks!!! V
  18. Thanks Jake. Thats some of your GSP in there. Love that stuff!
  19. Thanks Howard. No filters, or skimmers. I do at least 90% water change every other week with water from Marine Scene. Sometimes I use a cup to remove and particles that collect at the surface of the water. I dose with Kents 2 part nano 2ml, 5 days a week. There is one orchid dottyback, one high finned banded goby, 1 neon blue striped hermit, 2-3 burgundy, 1 small emerald crab I think, and about 15 assorted small snails. I dont know what kind of crab that is in the first SPS picture. He came in on it. You see those 2 powerheads there, I've got to put something bigger in there for the new SPS corals. I've got 1 of those hermits you mentioned in there. I get bubbles all over the tank with very very little sign of what might be cyano. The tank is clear before the lights come on at 830am, and start showing up around noon. Lights go off at 4:30. By then there are thousands of bubbles. They just form on the "clean" rock. I've posted in the advanced forums in RC with a few bumps, and never got a responce. So I just let it go. The SPS came from Feathers and Fins in Ashburn. They've come a long way in the last month. Victor
  20. Its been up about 6 months. It has a 96watt power compact quad for lighting. Pics...
  21. Hi! I'm still interested in the 660 and VHOs. I know you cant let it go until the livegoods are gone, thats ok. I didnt see anywhere here, where are you located? I'd like to come over and buy some livegoods. Oh, and how much for the drygoods? Thanks!! Victor
  22. If parting, I'll take the IceCap 660 with the 4 actinic VHO's and 1 Mak4 Genx Pump. My names Victor. Where are you located? Nice tank!
  23. I have the 90 with corner overflow also. I use a Mag 32 from the basement. I used to have the same problem, now it is totally silent. I have both lines in the overflow going to the sump. I put a valve on the 1" return to reduce the rate until water barely hits the top of the second return which is about 1" lower then the top of the overflow. I use a strainer looking piece on the 1" (they are inside the 1" foam filters) to keep it from getting clogged. The 1" is only about 12" high. My return is split into 2 that come over the top back of the tank. Periodically I test it out by shutting off the return completely, once the water is high enough, it creates a siphon and sucks the water back down quickly, but I've never even come close to flooding. Again.. Completely silent! I adjust the valve about once a month.
