  1. Yiatz...seems like you don't care if the livestock that gets shipped to you lives or not as long as you get your money back. Sounds like you looking out for the hobby. So when your return pump dies, are you can jump on the old internet and click away and wait for your pump to get shipped someday or are you going to go to the lfs that is a waste of time and pick up a pump? I'm all for getting deals, but there is also a thing called relationships, that I would take over saving a buck here and there...
  2. Me....Leonardtown
  3. That stinks...not sure if anyone mentioned that maybe send them a credit card check...that way the cc company can still get your money back, you may have to pay a small fee, but will be worth it if you have to file a claim...good luck!
  4. Thanks Rocko918...Can't wait to get the frag off of you. Those frag pics don't do the coral justice, that's what it looks like when the polyps are retracted, your first picture was a great shot of the coral...you must have a really nice camera to zoom in under water like that.
  5. lol...I just noticed you posted while I was posting...do you guys do auctions on the website? Do you have to be a paying member to view those?
  6. Thanks fo the info...even with the name I can't find it. Is it that rare of a coral? Now I feel sick to my stomach that I did not frag it and give it out to fellow reefers, so I could get a piece back. It was really colorful, but didn't think twice about it being rare or impossible to find a frag of it. Rocko918...I guess give me the bad news, either your not fragging it or I'll have to sell a kidney to get a tiny frag!!! lol Thanks again for all the info you guys have been very helpful...now off to sell the farm to save up for some frags...
  7. Rocko918...that could be it. Is that the official name? I saw this but couldn't tell the colors:http://www.reeffarmers.com/limitedpurplegreencyphastrea.htm Do you have any more pics of it not so close up(kinda show the way it looks from the top)? Do you have any frags for sale? Can't believe that I may have found some, I didn't think it would have been that rare of a coral. You can pm the price if you want. Leishman...I like the ones you posted also, do they have a name? I really like that chalice you in the bottom of the pic.
  8. Hi everyone, it's been awhile since I posted here. I lost my colony of cyphastrea and am looking to see if anyone has any or knows where I could get some. I received my frag from a friend of a friend that had a saltwater store in Va. Beach a couple years ago, he said it was from his own personal stock that he himself got while diving off some island(not sure if it's true or not), but I've searched on the internet and haven't been able to find any. Here is a description(I have a pic somewhere, which I'll post if I find it), it had a blue almost purple background depending on the light and the polyps were a light to medium green. If you have something like that and are willing to frag, please post a pic so I could see if that's it or not. It was one of my favorite corals. Thanks
  9. I had the same thing happen 3 years ago. Spent 6 hours tearning down my reef to catch all the fish. I used the white papers from Steven Pro and went with the hyposalinty. Worked great, lost one fish during it and it was only because he decided to carpet surf. I used a 26 gallon tank with alot of PVC to let the fish hide. Here are the links to his papers. Good luck http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-08/sp/index.php http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-10/...ature/index.php
  10. Not sure why it's so cheap, but it works great. Maybe they aren't trying to sell something that cost them $1.00 to make for $30.00 It gives me a peace of mind while at work or away from the house.
  11. Yea...Those things are great, I was told to have one for every 30 gallons. Also I was told that they work alot better(move the water around) if you remove the sandstone and just leave the air rush out in large bubbles. The sound of the the little airpump coming on made me go and check my nano one night after the lights were out, here I blew a fuse and would have never known till the morning if it wasn't for that little pump kicking on.
  12. I also have battle a severe case of ich. I read everything and finally talk to Steven Pro at one of the WAMAS meetngs and got a copy of his white paper on ich. He recomended hyposalinity. I had a 25 gallon Q-tank setup and running for a couple weeks, so after 6 hours of tearing all the rock and coral out (which is a ton), I put all the fish in the Q-tank and did the hyposalinity. I had a PH and Salinity monitor which helped out alot. I did it for 8 weeks, I wanted to make sure the ich was gone from the display tank. The only fish that didn't survive was my mandrin, I think it starved to death, I tried putting pods in the Q-tank but all the other fish would get to them first. I have been ich free for a year now(knock on wood). One good thing, I got to reaquascape my display tank which I think looks better now then before!!! lol HTH Doug
  13. John...Hey this is Doug, what color are the blasto's and how big is it? Do you have a guess on the price. I'm always looking for blastos and acans. Also what does the turtle sand conch look like? Does it look like the conchs we got before? Thanks Doug
  14. Did your fish have funny voices after that??? lol
  15. Cool, thanks Eriks...I saw some new Milwaukee ones on Ebay for around $85 shipped or like $165 shipped with PH controller.
