  1. I have a Remora for three years. the screw thread is all %#$& up, but it still works. Now must of the time it skimms dry, and leaves a very messy scum, he riht after cleaning the head it skimms wet, for a day o two and goes back to semi-dry to dry the rest of the time. I clean it once a year. and it works like a champ

did I mentioned this Remora is the skimmer for the 55G ?

I have an old CPR914 with a sedra 3500 pump on the 125G tank

  2. on the first picture look at the center white stripe of the clown, there is a little tube coming out of his belly... he is fertilizing as I took the picture..

  3. Just got these pictures few minutes ago... the clowns were laying eggs as I walked by.

  4. I hate words...... :why:

    carry on....

This isnt a BRK plug thread, but thanks!!! It is just every so important to support the people that help you, again not only in LFS but among the club memebers. I think it is great to see when someone has lost power 10 people offer help, that is what is all about. When it comes to LFS, give back to the stores that donate, run specials, help when in trouble, and flat out take care of you. It is a big circle of love....... :bounce:

this has been my experience with BRK throughout 2005 and 2006

I went to a store in the Herndon area at 7:15 PM on a Sunday evening, I saw employees inside and no one came to the door even after insisting and knocking on the door for 15 minutes. and it wasn;t because they don't know me.. they all know me by name.. they know who I am. So I went on line and posted my problem with the pump, and BRK responded.

when the sump pump on the 125 broke at 7PM on a Sunday night, BRK offered to open the store to lend me a MAG 7 or sell me a MAG 9.

when the power head on the 55G died on a WED afternoon, BRK offered to get me a replacement even if they were closed

when the capacitor on the main ballasts blu up, BRK offered to get me a replacement overnight.

now that is SERVICE in capital letters.. that is why BRK has my respect, loyalty, and support.. this does not mean that I do not visit other stores, because I do, and often find prices lower here and there, but when is time to purchase... I always have a trusty first choice.

Thank you Johnny for what you have done for WAMAS as well as for me.

  6. I larned from Chip during Hurrican Isabel that you can just syphonout 5 gallons of water, and dump them right back into the tank every 1/2 hour, this will keep the water movement and air circulation. Unless you have a battery operated thermostat, here is not mch you can do.. and please don't try the microwave thing or the heat up on the gas stove.... just be patient..

  7. have you checked ground?

all your wire nuts are tight?

all wires are making good connection?

is there polarity in your ballasts?

have you cheked the main power source to se if there is power coming to your ballasts?

    just some thoughts.

I have a meter if you want to check the wires, perhaps you have a bad (burn) wire. I will be available Friday or maybe Monday.

  8. I had a similar conversation with Dr. Mac few years ago and this was the end result.

excerpt: "Corals require sun light in order to grow and thrive in their real natural colors. The bulbs that assimilate sun light the most ar those in the 6.5K and 10K range. Now there are few corals that will thrive under power compact but will not reach their 100% pure colors, and those corals are; Pocillopora, Millipora, Merulina, and Porites. All Acroporas will require the minimum 10K lighting, and will most likely not make it on the long run under PC lights."

    hope this helps

  9. Jake,

when you do test .......at what number do you consider time to replace....5.....10....15....etc?????

    Bryan

I read 0ppm at output, but when mixed in the tank with Baking Soda it reads 18ppm still a good number for top off water in my opinion. Anyone has any suggestions?

  10. finger nails.. just pull the stack from the base, and make sure you peal the base off or it will grow back..

on the second part of your question, unless you go radical and pull the rock out, the Kenya Tree will grow again somewhere else.

  11. if you plan on having a Dragonet, or other types of fish that benefit from them.. it is good to have plenty of them and be able to breed them. As a matter of fact if you want them to breed and keep your tank healthy, look for a spot in your tank behind the rocks or in the corner where you can put a pile of rubbles (consisting of dead frags, shells, small rocks, etc.) that will serve as a safe heaven for them as well as a breeding ground, also add some cheato to your sump or refugium, they will breed there as well and keep your tank healthy. My mandarin dragonet tends to hubble around the pile of rubble when he is hungry, and he is as thick as my thumb... he is a pig with wings....

  12. Check the AquaC Remroa, or the Mini ASM, they are better products. The RedSea will last you for a year or so, and then you will want to upgrade, so spend your $$$ now and get a good one... just my opinion after been there, and done that.
