He sells top quality stuff that is ensured to be as healthy and beautiful as possible. This post is long overdue but His overall quality hasn’t changed of course lol. By far the best service and prices around, I highly recommend!

  3. Sorry for the clickbait title. Just lost power and am wondering if anyone has an extra ecotech battery backup or small generator I could borrow. I didn’t have time to prepare and am not sure the power status as I’m not home yet. I’m in Frederick now going to Germantown if anyone around has anything.

  4. I live in Urbana and I won’t go back in there. Father is nice enough, but son has a lot of growing up to do. Told me that fishkeeping is “vanity”. Good luck taking over the family business with that attitude....

Paul and Dylan at Fintastic are great, so i’ll drive out of my way to give them my business.

    +1! Fintastic is fantastic!

  5. I go to urbana highschool which is less than a mile away and am constantly checking what they have lol. But overall the store isn’t bad, there’s not a huge saltwater selection but it’s not bad, but lately they havnt been getting the best shipments or anything in. Every once in a while there’s good stuff here and there but it’s not worth a 40 minute drive. If your in the area or passing by though I would highly recommend taking a look though. It’s a nice little family owned business.

  6. Fragging zoas and palys is generally pretty straightforward. However, both can have varying levels of palytoxin which can be deadly in very, very small amounts. There is a palythoa species that's found (among other places) here in the DC region that's ugly, but potent. I doubt that it's the one that you want to frag and share.

You're going to want to wear gloves and safety glasses at the very least. Make sure any open wounds are covered. If you're worried that you may have one of the potent varieties, I've had success wearing a pesticide-rated respirator.

Read this article for pointers on how NOT to frag zoanthids.

With safety in mind, you can reference this article for the how to part.

thanks so much for the info and article, very helpful!

  7. I’m not a pro but could help. It’s a lot easer than people think. If you can remove the rock from the tank it’s super easy. What’s your location?

  8. Hi,

I’ve been in the hobby for a few years now and have a few things that have grown out nicely that I would like to frag. Specifically a beautiful and rare piece, the Mohican paly which I got from a good friend of mine. I have no experience fragging and would love if someone could swing by sometime these next few weeks and give me a little tutorial. I’d be happy to throw a polyp or two your way for the help.

I understand I could just look it up on the internet but I️ feel I would be better off learning hands on, and this is a super expensive piece so I wouldn’t want to screw up. Hope you guys can help me out!

    Happy holidays!

  9. Sorry havnt been on the forum and just realized what day it was, my apologies. I also don’t have a picture because I’m out of town and I’m having a zoa issue in my tank:( something is just slowly picking away at my zoas. And they just recently got ahold of my contest one:/ so I went from 2-0 yay. Seems like we already have a definite winner though lol. Wish I could be there today.
