  1. Hi everyone, I am no longer a member so I can't post on the selling board, but I would like to share with WAMAS before I hit Facebook.

I am getting out of the hobby and would like to sell my entire setup as a package for only $300! Pick up this weekend, or anytime after 7 pm next week. PM me for more details.

Please note: I am not interested in selling it piece meal, I want someone to come and take everything.

Here is a list of what you will get:

    Equipment

    • 1 - 55 gallon tank and stand (no sump, not drilled, just a plain marineland
    • 1 - Tunze Comline Streamfilter
    • 1 - Reef Octopus HOB 1000 skimmer
    • 1 - Vortech MP25 MP10
    • 1 - Tunze turbelle pump
    • 1 - Tunze Osmolator 3155 ATO
    • 1 - Cobalt Neotherm 100w heater
    • 1 - Box of assorted Zeovit products
    • 1 - DJ powerstrip w/fuse
    • approx. 50-lbs. well-seasoned live rock
    • assorted food, selcon, other reef tank maintenance items

    Livestock

    • 6 - RBT anemones
    • 1 - large Green toadstool coral
    • 1 - large Brown toadstool coral
    • 1 - Yellow Eye Kole Tang
    • 1 - Yellow watchman goby
    • 1 - Red stripe pistol shrimp (paired with goby)
    • 1 - Yellow Tang
    • 1 - cleaner shrimp
    • 1 - Orange ocellaris clownfish (part of mated pair)
    • 1 - Black ocellaris clownfish (mated with above, lay eggs every two weeks)

All livestock are healthy but need a new home. I no longer am able to care for this tank properly and would like to see it go to someone who will take good care of it!

I will return to the hobby one day!

  2. Zeostart is also really powerful. It's the carbon component but like all zeo it's super concentrated. IMHO coral snow is the only zeo product you cannot OD. Keeps water crystal clear and helps make better skimmate.

  3. It just became a pain. SPS suffered if one drop was missed or over/under. Basically it started sucking the fun out of the hobby for me. All zeo products are so concentrated and you have to follow their instructions exactly. BUT if you stick to it, it's amazing. My tank never looked better. I also had less xbox1 time lol...

  4. Don't just jump to doom and gloom! Glad to hear some positives.

1 thing is guaranteed: we will have to wait and see.

I agree, look at it positively.

One of two things will happen:

Petco will go in and let LA do its thing as it has, and be successful.

Petco will ruin LA, another vendor will step up to take its place to become the way LA was before Petco bought it.

Either way, this is a good thing.  The earth will keep on spinning.

Let the invisible hand do its thing!

  5. Not to go off topic, but who else is wondering what is next?  I mean, Vortech or another company (Avast??) might have something in development that blows this away...what amazing times we live in!

  6. I have no qualms hijacking an ERC love thread :)  Dedication and hard work are an understatement when it comes to the phenomenal business practices of ERC.  I have a feeling when its "Dr. Marcos and Dr. Richards Live Aquaria" in 20 years and not "Dr. Foster and Smith",  those of us that have been working with them for a while will know exactly why!

I LOVE ERC, and here is why:

The last few months I have had a hectic travel schedule, and I was not able to pick up my LRS food for like two months until after I ordered it in the last group buy.

I missed scheduled  meetups, never answered messages on WAMAS etc. because of ongoing developments in my professional life.  Weak excuse, I know :)  ERC was extremely patient, especially since at one point I had totally forgotten I had purchased it and it was one of Marcos's messages that reminded me.

Thankfully, ERC was willing to put up with my flakiness, AND when I had to gall to ask for ten minutes of their time just to talk about tank stuff when I finally was able to meet up with them ( totally not ERC's fault, remember! ) Marcos listened to me and gave me some good advice.  All with a smile.

Great company, if you are one of the rare WAMASers who has not done business with ERC, I highly suggest you do.  And if you are not a WAMASer, become one!

  7. You may laugh, but when I had a 34 gallon AIO in my wife's home office, I used a plastic pail ("Fresh Step" kitty litter) which held a few gallons as my ATO reservoir. It fit the cabinet easily and was rectangular so it made great use of space. Since the pail was meant to hold heavy kitty litter material, it was thick and strong. My neighbor had cats, too, so the price was right - free.

LOL, this was my very first ATO bucket.  For the same reasons, it fit in the cabinet perfectly where it was at the time.

Now I use it to grow tomatoes...using a 18g sterilite container for holding ATO with my current setup.

  8. Looks good to me.  Nice colors and open aquascape.

Thanks.  I have actually added about ten lbs. of rock to make some more caves, b/c my clown got super aggressive towards the kole when the nem went in for some odd reason.  Clownfish, they are so cute but wow they can be murderous psychos!  Rockwork is still pretty open and all the fish are happy.

It ebbs and flows with cyano, I think I have major phosphates leeched up in my rocks and/or sand.  But I just keep up 100% with maintenance, everything is happy and open, and most importantly growing.  I just have to turkey baste every day or two.

  9. All taken with my Samsung Galaxy S5.

    One of my faves.

My very first frag, which happened to be a SPS, still alive and kicking in its third tank in a year.  Has even survived having a sponge growing on its lower half.
