All right, I think it's time to add a sump to my 36 gallon... But, I have no idea where to start, need your help. The tank is not drilled, and I will be putting the sump behind the stand because it can't fit under the three section stand... It's really small

Figured I'd post an updated picture. This little 2.5 seems to be doing pretty good. I have it in my kitchen now so it gets more visibility now

Okay, so can a nem literally stay on the side of the aquarium like this, or is this temporary! He looks happy there. Been there for two days.

I think I'm lucky because it didn't loose color and it's fully out
-
Yes sorry, he finally got off and is at the bottom of one of the larger rocks in the tank :-) he has still moved but came back to the bottom.. Hoping he will stay put!!

ahhh, he is still on there so I went on ahead and moved teh entire back on the sand in front where it started... To be honest, I dont think it's comfortable on the GSP... because this nem has yet to stay open throughout the daty fully... I think I've seen it open fully twice in two weeks, but not all day... :-(

I picture you sitting on the edge of the couch anxiously watching to see if the anemone moves.
My best advice- Stop, look, and listen. (observe)
Lol!!
We'll he is still sitting on the GSP :-( I just moved him hope it works... The lights are off and everything is sleep but when I moved the GSP rock in high flow the nem woke right up lol

I just did a 15g WC last night. Flow should be fine I have 2 korilla 800's. Water parameters are good, salinity is good. I do still need to buy new T5 bulbs. They are a year old. I do have Cyano on the back glass but I've been told that old bulbs can really feed Cyano.. Everything else in the tank seems fine

Careful it doesn't wander into a powerhead and nuke your tank.
Good so far haven't seen him floating yet, so that's good

Great ideas everyone, thank you. I will wait it out at least until tomorrow morning to see if he moves off. Then I will try the method of moving the rock to a super high flow spot!

+2 Sweet post! Hopfully this post will make beginner Reefers...(this guy lol) set up a QT!!

All right thought it would be good to post an update, it's been one week.
Thanks for looking

It may move a lot before it finds its happy spot. Once it gets a good foot hold, then you can turn the PHs back on, you just don't want it floating around the tank
He hasn't done the float trick yet, so that's good!
He is kind of in the back of the tank now but hopefully he will come back to the front. Thanks for helping! I will post a pick when he is happier.

Maybe adjust the powerhead higher thank the rock? After he settles of course.

Yes it is a BTA, but it seems like every time he moves he gets right in front of the PH.

Won't he get mad if I turn the pumps on after he settles?

Okay so until he finally opens up and looks like other WAMAS members nems
-
Okay so I just got this new Anemone and I know they move when they are uncomfortable but this one shrivels up and opens his mouth with too much flow... So I turned off one of my pumps off and it perked up and looked happy... What do I do now? He has moved like three times. Do I turn the pump back on?
Also should point out that he stayed there in the same spot getting blasted by the powerhead, then looked like it was on its last limb but would move to another spot
-
Yep, it's a blasto.
Congrats on one year! It's a big milestone. Per the Ich. If you're waiting for it to go away, it wont. Not by itself. Understand the ich lifecycle and how it works if you would like to get rid of it, but I would venture to say most hobbyists have it in their tanks, and their fish survive.
Yeah, I will wait it out, gives the nem time to settle In anyway.

Idea to add a sump to my 36 Gallon BowFront
in General Discussion
Hey Matt, not much maybe the same size as the tank width and hight... I'm going to be pulling the tank from the wall and maybe placing the sump on cinder blocks possibly if that's the best option.
