i got it .... i swear this tank is 3 plus years old ..... i think it had the stock MH bulb ..... what happens during the breakend will the light change color ????

i just got a new HQI bulb for my jbj nano ... I'm not sure on how to take the hood off or get the cover off to get to the bulb and change it thanks john

i know what you mean .....mine's a little full now .. ill post some more pics of mine this week ...it's finally turned the corner two weeks ago now all it needs is time ..... whats up with your 40 is it up and running yet .... keep up the good work ... maybe ill see you at the meeting ... john

i just pick up a second tank its a 45 g bow the tank was to good of deal to pass up ....it came with a pretty good skimmer 50 lbs or so of live rock and way to much sand the light has to be replaced ... but they used a canister filter which i have never used .. there's three trays in it may be 4 they have bio balls or something like that in two spots . and carbon in one or two of them. my question is can i break up live rock and use that in one spot or live sand .. and use a pure chem bags in th others . i know it sound crazy just dont have the money to set up a sump system right now .... or should i just run it like is for now thanks john

ill get some pics this weekend they are big pieces ..... my salinity was high 129 130 now 125 i fixed it last night im toping off with water without salt.. temp might be a little warm 81 i think not sure yet the corals and fish look happy ... my ammonia spiked a couple of times ...but i did three water chages every two days and now 15 % every week seemed to help fix that ...

thanks for the link thats what im looking for .... clams great !!! i got the 45 gl bow tank for 150 bucks with the stand and a i think corallite the ones witth two lights in one i think 96 watts .... a nice skimmer that mounts on the back works with a pump ... 50/60 lbs of live rock that i might sell and live sand ...... they used a canister filter not sure if i want to use it ??? i was thinking or changing the set up inside of it .. replacing the carbon and bio balls departments with live rock or sand .. and some sort of cabon bag .... not sure if that can work ..... im gone to get it up and runninig tonight '' im gone to start a diff thread tommorow on it .... on ya i have one clown i shoud have got a pair he looks lonely .... i want a goby with a pistol shrimp i think thats so cool how they work togather ...... im gone to order a test kit soon i need to slow down and let my tank mature some more !!!!!!! thanks john

funds were short ..... i bought a used 45 gl bow tank fist ... i had no idea they cost so much i thought i could pick one up used for a hundred or so ... no luck ...... well im not sure where i should go for advice on the tank ii got ....i mean which forum ...

jim i think your right .... i looking for a test kit for that .... does anyone have any suggestions .. i added two 500 gl. pumps hook them up to the wave machine made the two inlets work with out the wave machine . got the skimmer working ...... the water looks a lot better ..and added a couple more corals i'm looking for the ideal fish i'm not in hurry for that .... ive been looking for extenders for the return outlets that are flexable

Hi Orion what kind of light are you using ...how did you get the tank water ready so so fast for fish and coral thanks john it looks so good i cant believe it' s only a 8 g tank..... I'm not sure if i want a big tank or 5 small ones lol

thanks guys .... well just one more question and the i leave you alone .. what do you add to your tank other then food and water changes .. to help the corals grow if any thing ...i m going sunday to the opening of Artfully Acylic LLC and Incredible Corals to get a Vortech MP10. and get started on my corals and frags ...i think my tank is ready to go thanks for your help

thanks i re-did the tank im up to 4 fish now every all my levels are steady now... do you add any supplements to your tank there so many now there confusing .. i use to put a pure chem in the tank and weekly water changes back in the day and it worked fine .. l you do a 5 gl water changes every week isn't that over kill or is that the trick to keeping a full thank thanks again. maybe ill meet you at the meeting I'm going with my buddy Greg to the next one ,,, i kinda like the hood set up lol

thanks mike .. i'm gone to look for one ... jaddc nice tank ,, do you use the stock pumps ?? i think mine are loud .. i bought the tank used i was thinking they needed replaced . your tank has a lot of corals ow long did it take to get there and what did you have to add to the stock tank to handle that much life ? what kind of wave pump is that on the side of your tank ?? .. i'm gone to stop here i swear i have a hundred more question sorry .... thanks again for all the help ....

thank you for your help ... the light's are mounted in the hood and 4 small fans .. i'm gone to add a small fan on the back soon .... im gone to pull the koralia tonight and look for a smaller one ...im not sure what to do with the live rock i like the way it looks im gone to take out a third this weekend and see if my buddy will store it for me ... looks like im gone to need another tank ;-) i starting to get some extra stuff haha . zygote2k ????? Take off the diffuser on the end of the loc-line and let it run wide open. what do you mean by that? where's that located? sorry for the dumb question im sure ill have a lot more .... has anyone found bigger return pumps for the 28 g nano tanks? what does the skimmer remove again ? will it allow me to add more corals or fish?.
