Coral - Thanks for the info. Makes sense. I will treat my tank and hopefully reduce the chances of this happening in the future with stressed new additions. gmerek - You are also right. I suppose I cant 100% safeguard against it being reintroduced by new fish but I can do my due diligence to reduce or kill what exists in my tank currently.

******* UPDATE 2 *********** For anyone still following this post, the angel fish kicked the ich the following day but died a day later. Very sad about it. I thought he was going to make a recovery. I bought Kick Ich from Foster's & Smith but it arrived a few days after the fish died. My two clowns and 6-line were unaffected and are happy as can be. Corals and cleanup crew are also doing extremely well. So my question is, should I still treat my tank with Kick Ich at this point?

I have ordered an Kick Ich from Marine Depot and will begin treatments when it arrives. Unfortunately I do not have a QT. I am in an apartment and a 28g is all I really have room for but it is on my list for when I can expand my setup. The good news is that he was more active as the afternoon/evening progressed and was finally interested in food, eating quite well. His bumps even seem to have gotten a bit better but I will keep my eye on it tomorrow. Thanks again for all the advice. I always learn so much when I post here. It is truly invaluable!

After a bit of research, looks like Ich. Anyone have success with certain products to rid ich?

Hi all, I recently (three days ago) purchased an African Flameback Angel from a LFS and this morning I noticed he is covered very tiny white bumps all over his body, including head fins and eye region. They do seem to be bumps and not flat to his body. Can anyone shed light on what he has, what the prognosis is and how to help get rid of them? He is in a 28g nano reef tank with two clowns and a six line that are unaffected. He did not have these bumps last night. Thanks for your help!

My apartment recently suffered smoke damage from an electrical fire in the unit below mine. The cleaning company has suggested ozoning the entire apartment after they clean the individual items permeated with the smell. I am wondering if the ozone generator will harm my fish tank (28g reef tank with two clowns) if it is in the living room with the generator while it is running. I have read mixed messages online and am not sure who to believe. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That is exactly what I been seeing my newest middle-sized clown do. I believe I will keep him and sell the other small one. Seems as though out of the two small ones I should keep the one who is twitching toward the others and gets along best with the larger female. Thanks again for the help.

Hi all, I am hoping for a bit of advice regarding my Ocellaris Clownfish. I started my 28g Nano Cube with a single clownfish. Soon after I added a second. The first (Clown A) is about an inch and a half long while the second (Clown B) is a good bit smaller - maybe coming in around an inch. The two have never particularly gotten along together. Clown A seems generally disinterested in being around Clown B and often chases it around the tank aggressively. This went on for a few months and no progress was made toward the two pairing or even getting along. I began to feel bad for the little guy who was usually shunned to a corner in the back of the tank so I decided to get a third clown (Clown C), thinking that whichever one of his mates he got along with I would keep and the other I would hopefully sell to one of you fine folks. It has been a few weeks now and I have seen some strange behavior and would like your opinion on which to keep and which to get rid of. Clown C is smaller than Clown A, the aggressive one but larger than Clown B, the submissive one. While Clown C is nowhere near as aggressive to the little guy as Clown A is, he does still regularly chase Clown B away/around the tank. However, recently I have noticed Clown C twitching around the little Clown B and form what I have read that is a sign of submissiveness and/or an interest in mating usually performed by the male of the species (am I right on that?). Also from what I have read, males are typically smaller in size and more submissive than their female counterparts which seems odd given Clown C is larger and occasionally aggressive toward Clown B. To make things even more complicated, I have also witnessed Clown C twitching around the larger Clown A - although to a much more limited extent. As I paid more attention, I have only seen this twice. Clowns A and C seem to spend more time together now - leaving Clown B on its own for most of the day. However, Clown C does seem to like and twitch quite a bit at the little Clown B. Clown B is usually frightened or wary of any interaction when this happens. With all that said, which two do I keep? Does the new Clown C seem like a male, twitching at both the dominant Clown A as well as the smaller submissive Clown B who are both likely female? Any advice would be much appreciated. If I have omitted anything of importance, let me know and I will try to fill in the gaps. Thanks!

Ahhh, yes. Sharkey, I believe you are right. I looked up Nerite snail eggs and they look like what I have in my tank. Should I be expecting 100 more cleanup crew members?

Nope, they look to be jelly-ish. Semi-transparent. If I look really closely I can see something inside them that looks a little yellowish. There are about 80 of them scattered on the 3 sides of my glass.

Hi All, I have a 28g Nano Cube and am looking to start outfitting it with corals. I am quite new to this hobby and am learning as I go and having a blast! My tank has been established for 12 weeks now and has 2 ocellaris clowns, one six-line wrasse and one royal dottyback along with the usual suspects of cleanup crew. I currently have one GSP and really love it. I was hoping some of you could give me some advice as to which corals are good for beginners or which seem popular. With the research I have done I really love Zoanthid and LPS corals but am open to all suggestions. Thanks for helping! Matt

Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and removed him. He never took well to the tank like the other clown. He also never ate well and always seemed a little stressed. Still, a bummer.

Hi All, At the moment my tank has a number of various snails, two emerald crabs, a few scarlet-legged hermit crabs and two clown fish. An hour ago I checked and both fish were swimming around. I just came out to check again and one clown fish was missing. I looked around the back and saw that the emerald crab had him in his grip and he was dead. Two hermits were also joining in on the action. I have a few question: 1. Are the emerald crabs predatory to fish? Is this normal behavior? Or is it more likely the fish died within that hour and the crabs took advantage? 2. Should I leave the fish in there for them to eat or should I remove the dead fish? Thanks for all of your help. Hi All, I am new to salt water tanks and am very excited to be setting up my first 28 gallon nano cube. Here are a few pics of the setup: Liverock has been cycling for 4 weeks now. Water levels are all where they should be with the exception of my nitrates being a little high (approx 15 ppm). I have put in half a clean up crew as a test - two turbo snails and 5 nassarius snails. They are all doing very well. But a day after I added them to the tank I noticed a 'browning' of the sand where they had been roaming around. See pic below. Any ideas what this is? Is this a problem? My second concern is I found this little guy growing on my live rock. Any idea what this is? Is he harmful? Thanks for all of your help!
