  1. Well, the unheard of has happened, we'll be staffed on Saturday by just the guys and so of course, we had to do something crazy before reason returns to the shop! For our bachelor weekend we're having a house cleaning sale with tons of free corals! If you buy 5 corals you get 1 free, 10 corals gets you 3 free, 15 corals gets you 5 free, 20 corals gets you 7 free, 25 corals gets you 10 free, and 40 corals gets you 20 free! All corals must be of equal or lower value to qualify for the deal but if you come in and decide you want to buy even more than 40 just talk to one of us and I'm sure we can do something for you!
  2. Hey there WAMAS family! I'm doing a report for my professional writing class and decided to write about getting more people interested in WAMAS. For this report I am to propose three recommendations to increase membership within WAMAS. If you could take a moment and share your thoughts on the following ideas and if you believe they would increase membership I would be very grateful. For each comment on this thread (one per user) I will be entering the numbers into a random number generator and pick one person to receive a frag of JF Dayglow favia. Please give me your thoughts on the following affecting membership: 1) Decreasing membership fees 2) A membership referral program where people bringing in new members get free corals or discounts 3) Having live demonstrations at meetings catered to beginner reef keepers such as establishing tanks or setting up sumps. Thanks for the feedback and good luck on the dayglow! -Ross's Reef

We know he spend a lot of money and this was his favorite hobby but would love to sell to someone who can take care of the fish and also help get money for funeral cost. Located in southern maryland. 7. Hi All, So I am relatively new here in the forum, however, I though this would be an important thing to put out there… I am currently a Paramedic Student, and I thought this was quite interesting and something rather important for all of us to be aware of. Specifically it involves Zoanthid Corals. I am sure some of you old timers are aware of this, as this article was written about an individual living locally in the DC area. There are some corals that are potentially poisonous… and very poisonous at that… In the last part of the article it goes on to discuss venom potency… Let me take a moment to explain... The most poisionus snake has a venom potency of 25 micrograms per kilogram of body weight… or 0.000025 grams. The venom potency of the coral is 0.0000003 grams. OK, so how much in Ounces is this you ask? It is 0.00000001 Oz. while the snake is 0.0000009 Oz. Quite potent, wouldn't you say? So, pay attention to the signs and symptoms.. and if you are handling corals, and they are of this specific type, you may want to get yourself, checked out at the hospital and your coral checked out at the LFS. http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/notrocketscience/2011/04/05/worlds-2nd-deadliest-poison-in-an-aquarium-store-near-you/#.Unk4L6Wy_wI Just some food for thought. 8. Hi Gang.. Next week I am planning to head to Florida around Miami to the Keys and enjoy the sun during the holiday break. While I am there, I would like to do some snorkeling, and maybe bring back something for the tank However.. I am not sure this is legal.. I did look at the Florida "Fins and Feathers" site <---- *see link * and it does not mention anything about the private collection of stuff, but only commercial (Not looking to do any business here) Soooo.. does anyone else have any info, or done this before? If so, can you send me some infos? Thanks! -B
  9. I just joined this past July during the annual member extravaganza(which was awesome) and I got a bunch of frags. The frags have taken off somewhat ( they are SLOWLY growing) and i was wondering, Where is the best place on this site to have someone identify a few frags for me? Id like to know exactly what they are so I can take better care of them. Water parameters are ok, not perfect but im worried my placement in the tank is off on some. Thanks!
  10. I haven't post pics in awhile... I was playing with my camera today and got some shots... I still need to improve but I am getting better...Enjoy
  11. Hi All, I have a 28g Nano Cube and am looking to start outfitting it with corals. I am quite new to this hobby and am learning as I go and having a blast! My tank has been established for 12 weeks now and has 2 ocellaris clowns, one six-line wrasse and one royal dottyback along with the usual suspects of cleanup crew. I currently have one GSP and really love it. I was hoping some of you could give me some advice as to which corals are good for beginners or which seem popular. With the research I have done I really love Zoanthid and LPS corals but am open to all suggestions. Thanks for helping! Matt
