Has anyone had problems with accuracy with expired Hanna Reagents? I have a bunch and I want some opinions before I trash them. Thoughts.

I have a hob skimmer that I’m gonna check later this evening. If it fits that’s the route I’m probably going to go. Im going to put my 300 gallon in storage until I move into another house. I got to make the decision soon.

Thanks. it has a hole in it on the side to put a pump that will be inside the tank. I’m trying to decide on using this tank which is 100 gallons 5ft long or a 72 gallon bow front 4ft with a canister filter and hang on back skimmer. Tank will be lps and fish. I keep going back and forth. Trying to decide which way to go.my livestock will be in either one for about a year.

Any one familiar with this kind of set up? It has internal filter compartment with overflow and a tray for bio balls. I’m thinking that I can put filter media over the bio balls. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this.

TSM is the best. For what they do it’s the best bang for your dollar. Elliot out in CA, marine collectors does the same thing but he charges a lot more and specializes in higher end fish. Great second option if you looking for high end fish

Usually it means that the starter is bad. Check that. Next thing to check after that is the ballast

People do it both ways. I personally left the lights on to go through the "uglies" face as soon as possible. Since you have some CUC now, I would leave them on to not mess their day/night cycle IMO.
I second that.

It will. Once all the silicates are exhausted

You can drop them a little bit of fish food from time to time. A little goes a long way.
2nd that.....

They will not eat the diatoms.

It won’t hurt it but they will starve so make sure you give them a little something to eat

Few weeks. A couple of months. All tanks are different but it will go away like it was never there. Then you will get algae blooms! Lol! Then when things settle you will start to grow coralline algae. The good stuff. Be patient it’s like a fine wine....
