I've had a lifelong interest in aquarium keeping. As a early teen in the 1970's I kept freshwater tanks, mostly filled with livebearing fishes. I tried my first saltwater tank in the early 1980's; unfortunately, it was a miserable failure. My budget and skills were not sufficient to succeed. I didn't attempt another saltwater setup until 2005. On this second attempt, I had both the internet and many good books on the marine aquariums, the tank was a major personal victory.

Since 2005 my interest in the hobby has grown significantly, and so have my aquarium systems. I now have a fish room in the basement with multiple marine systems.

I think I've settled that LPS corals are my favorites, but that could change at any time. I especially admire the acans, hammers, duncans - things that create movement, are colorful, and are not too picky or difficult.

I'm an electrical engineer and that background leads me to enjoy the technical aspects of the hobby. I could be accused of going too "high-tech" on some of my setups, but for me, it's part of the enjoyment.
