was it LA or divers den ?
both different facilities
I have gotten a couple times a while ago from LA - had 50% mortality
I have ordered several times from Divers Den - 0 Issues , very healthy fish
both offer the 14 day guarantee for peace of mind.
I would pay the small premium of Divers den and will continue to get from them.
the other place i highly recommend is TSM corals ( NJ), I am also going to try zoacollecter...he gets rave reviews!

the barriers are down now for a couple days..everyone is getting along...PBT has promoted itself to being the no 2 in the tank ...actually saw it boss the angel around a little bit.
Can't say enough good things about divers den-despite the poor shipping ...very healthy specimen..eats everything already!
-
I agree with both of those sentiments. Red dragon doesn't live in my tank, and you have a beautiful tank.
thank you

they go thru the squares
-
yea he is little, about 3" maybe little more
he doesn't run tho when the purple would charge...stood his ground...so i just want to fatten it up before removing the barrier...
the wrasses and anthias move between the barrier so its great for them , not so much for the angel and the PT

Update had it in the 10g for 24 hrs
Then had it in DT sump for a day
Then had it in acclimation box for. Half a day... released it into tank and my fox face and purple tang and angel all didn't like it ... figured I'd let the skirmish go on for a little bit 30 minutes... end of which the big aggressor oddly enough my always peaceful foxface was exiled ... I let them be this way overnight ... the next morning I saw a gash mostly from the purple tang
The angel and the pbt were friendly now ... the PT would occasionally charge ...
As a precaution I did this separation which I'll keep in place for 2 weeks
Allows me to focus feed the PBT more which it's already taking pellets of a couple kinds quickly
No flashing , rubbing, spots ... I hope this specimen from divers den is the same quality I have received in the past

Ammonia will be a challenge in a 10g. Lots of water change and have an ammonia badge in there.
i used half display tank water...that should already have some beneficial bacteria in it right...
i'll keep an eye but are we talking daily or every 2-3 days water changes...

ok thanks !

its in the QT by itself now...and swimming around happily and trying to eat stuff
-
I'm assuming that you floated the bag for a while. Is that correct?
Are there other fish in your other tank where you want to put it? If there are and you can afford to do so, leave the new fish in the separate tank for a bit. Keep the water quality high and, if possible, shade the sides of the tank so there's nothing to startle or stress it. Keep it well fed and let it recover from the stresses of shipping before tossing it into a tank (even a larger one) where it's surrounded by competitors and, possibly, aggressors.
yea i drip acclimated for 2 hours...and then moved it to the QT tank...
regretfully the drip temp had only been raised to 73 and the QT was at 77...so it had a bad jump there which i didn't realize till it was late...

hey guys, i received my PBT from LA DD, but the water temperature was 68 :(
my tank runs at 79
pretty big temp change... put it in my QT (new setup) which is at 77 ...i really only did the QT because of the shipping temperature.
wasn't happy putting it through these swings...but it is roaming happily...picking on the glass & pellets..
the only thing i wanna keep an eye out for is ick...otherwise i would much rather put it in a stable tank than a 10g QT.
any suggestions?

Just get a couple feet of 1/8" rigid airline tubing and attach it to a longer length of airline tubing. Then start the siphon the old fashioned way. Get several lengths of the tubing and bend some (using a heat gun) to meet your needs. When bending the tubing, try packing it with sand, salt, or baking soda before bending it to keep the inside of the tubing from collapsing.
You can do something similar using a piece of acrylic tubing and a bulb syringe, too.
thx, for thinking that through

put a cup with sand in it...the leopard needs it
i have free sand if you need some
-
i have a lot of flow...this is certain areas that trap it due to to rock cave like layout

hey wamas, i am looking to find something that can siphon fat long poop that collects in certain dead spots from my fatty fish..
but it doesn't work for my needs...
i want something that i can angle and is narrow enough for poop only...ideally i'd like to do this without getting my hands in the tank.
