Hello, I have one of your old GSA Fluidized Media Reactor (Probably Used for Calcium), I'd like to turn it into a Recirculating Bio Pellet Reactor similar to what Reef Dynamics is doing. Can you tell me what I need to do to make this happen?
-
Do they nip on polyps?
-
I'd like the cleaner shrimp

Thanks again Tom, really appreciate it!

Has anyone used these live rocks in their aquariums? How do you like them? Any long term issues with these artifial live rock? Are there any local dealers?

Hey folks, in the next month or so I would like to purchase a metal stand with the dimesions of 48"x24"x30". The only problem is that I do not know who to contact to purchase or commision something like that. Are there any local metal workshops in the DC/MD/VA area that can make an aquarium stand with those dimensions? do they have the capability to powder coat the stand? has anyone purchased a stand like this for their setup? and if so how much was your cost?

You must have a beast skimmer >.<;

Where did you order from? This guy is Virginia Beach and I saw his ad on CL.

Does anyone have any experience with these units? http://www.ajmreefled.com/#!products/cngp
The price seems great for two units. I understand that these are just rebranded chinese units but if they get the job done and look make the corals look good ... any opinions?

My budget was approximately 300$, but I'm finding any decent DSLR with a good lense worth it's salt is going to be upwards to 500-600. :(
-
I'd like to ask some of our more experienced reefing photographers what they would recommend for a good starter DSLR body and lense. I'd like to be able to take close up shots of my aquarium under actinics. On a side note, would it be possible to do this with the iPhone 4 Camera?

I use the indo pacific black/white mix. Its a really nice looking sand, and after 4 years still looks great. BUT...... It will stick to magnets including vortechs. When your wetside falls in it, its a PITA to clean the magnatized black sand off of the magnet. Other than that I couldnt be happier with it.
Trock, can you please post a picture of your substrate/tank?
-
I know there are various brands of black sand substrate for our saltwater aquariums, but I have been told that some of these brands lose their color over time and become a bland brownish color.
Are there any black sand/substrate that last the test of time?

Wow, just .. wow

Hopefully it's a slip bulkhead tank-side. Should be easy to find a 1-inch slip to 3/4 thread adapter at Lowes.
Confirmed, they have a 1" slip to 3/4" threaded 90 degree bend at Lowes. That should work right?

Thx for the support... Sry but I just need to vent
Fishie, I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. You have such a beutiful setup - please don't quit!
