  1. RO/DI units all generate more waste then usable water. Usually 2 gallons are wasted for every gallon purified. Water temp can effect this...you waste more with cold water then you would if the input water was closer to 75ish degrees. The waste water can be used though, it's still better than tap water to drink, water plants, or even fill the washer with.

Ok I didn't know I could increase the water temperature I thought I need to use cold only... I will increase the temperature to save more water..

  2. I just got the RO/DI system by Bulk reef supply and I am a little confused because I am producing more waste water and RO/DI water is that normal?? or I am doing something wrong.? I thought this would help me, first reduce my trips to a LFS and Second save some money, etc.. but with all this waste water I am having here second thoughts... I might be doing something wrong... any help?

  3. I work by fairfax location petco store and I need to be honest the only reason i go there is to check the newest fish magazine and see the sales on dry goods because I lost count how many times I saw dead fish in their tanks. However the last time I was there I was amazed how nice and healthy their tanks were. I didn't see anything dead or sick... believe or not...

  4. Hi everyone!

I have two red tail firefish on my 90 Gallon for about 7 months now. They were always together and having fun. This past week or so I started noticing that one of them would disappear for a day or so and couple days ago I saw the top fin got really short. The other firefish is bulling him and nipping on him constantly and i don't know why because they used to be friends....

What should I do ? I have a 6 gallon tank under my display that I can use for emergencies should I separate them ?? If I should which one do I need to take out? Any advice is really appreciated !

    Thanks
