Good luck getting home today. Traffic is a MESS.

Oh man sorry to hear that Braden. That really sucks. You are more than welcome to have your frags back to restart your colonies.
-
Tank looks great Braden. I hope that frag that you gave me will look just as nice. How are the clowns?

If they don't work try silentx fans. They are super quiet.
-
I got the one from HD. Same manufacturer that makes the super glue.
-
+1 on the blue + bulbs from ATI. Change all you actinic bulbs with those and the par will increase.
-
Epoxy works great. Just finished my fixture.
-
thefishman56 recommended using epoxy because super glue clouds the lenses. I am heading to HD right now to pick up some epoxy.
-
Thank you sir. I was about to use superglue if I had some at hand. Glad I didn't. What kind of epoxy do you use ? Can I get some at home depot?
-
How do you mount the optics on the XP-E and XP-G led? Do you glue them ? They don't fit that well to just sit there. Thank You.

I bet you is your Koralia powerhead.

What color were the rics? Can we see some pics ?

Dim lights/LEDs. I have T5HO TEK fixture that I have installed 0-10V dimming ballasts and I use the apex do dim up and down for sunset and sunrise. Works great. I also use it for ATO, Skimmate container, automatic feeding and a bunch of alarms in case something goes nuts.

I will bring 10 gallons I just mixed it and it should be good to go by Sunday.

I can bring a couple of buckets of water (10gal) + a heater. Do I need to bring them a bit earlier for setup?

As far as portion control I use those weekly vitamin holders. Works really good. Amazon has the eheim automatic feed for $25.00. It's not a bad investment.

I got a feeling they are mysid shrimp. I have them in my tank and a few of them can get slightly larger then others. I have also noticed that some of my mysids have a red tint to them.
-
I believe this is more of a preference. If you don't like the way powerheads look inside the tank, then closed loop is the way to go. The only problem I see with closed loop is more plumbing part = more failure points for leaks.

Welcome to WAMAS and good luck with your project. Please remember to take A LOT of pictures.

I started with a healthy tank with plenty of copepods and amphipods in my DT and fuge. I mean I had thousands of them. I wanted to introduce a bit of variety so I introduced about 15 mysid shrimp in my fuge. I didn't see the shrimp for a while and I didn't think much of them. About 2 months later the shrimp population has exploded. These guys are everywhere but I can't see a single copepod in my DT or fuge. Did the mysid shrimp destroy my pod colonies. Has anyone else kept mysids and copepods successfully?

I read the post about the fire that destroyed one of the members tank. It was a bad situation but seems like other than the tank and its inhabitants everone else is doing OK. Will all the equipment that some of us keep under the tank in not so ideal conditions due to saltwater and moisture, is that any measures we can take to prevent fires from happening ? I think installing a smoke detector above your tank or even in the stand under the tank would be a good idea as a precaution. Let me know what you think ?

To get a good light spread on a 90 gallon do you need like 4 of these fixtures?
-
A few questions. How old is your setup? How often do you feed the fish?. Do you feed a lot of flake food? Do you thaw and rinse frozen foods? Have you added any new rock lately? I had some pukani rock that released phosphate for a few months.
Who felt that?

Now I told you so story
When we first got our 50" flat screen we put it on the book-shelf cuz the wife said it looked good. I said "I don't feel comfortable with this what if there is an earthquake or something. She goes " There are no earthquakes in Virginia". I agreed but proceeded find a stud in the wall and secure the tv with some zip ties and screws. There were vases and all kinds of books on that bookcase.
Anyone wants to guess what is the only thing that is standing intact on that bookshelf.
