How do you get the lens to stay on the LED?
-
If you retrofit and have a canopy I would recommend rapidled.com. Their service is great, and their retro kits are so simple to DIY for anyone.
I have no experience with ecoxotics. sorry.
I will be staying with MHs. And likely retro fit leds from rapidled.com. Their kits make it look so easy thsnks for all the input.

If you like the MH/T5 getting new pendants and ballasts would be cheap.
Here are T5 ballasts:

SE reflectors:
I think if you LIKE what you have you could easily replace it all for tons less than switching to the high ends LED's. Also, you may not be happy with the cheap LED's, and end up going back anyways. I can't imagine T5 and MH are going anywhere anytime soon. Phoenix may be gone, but there are tons of other options.
What do you think about retro fitting leds instead if t5s. I was thinking 3 ecoxotics on each side. What would the pros and cons be?
-
Apcolman, I actually like my MHs. But I was running Phoenix 250s, which are no longer made. It seems MH are fasing out. Plus my t5 ballast have burnt out so If I change now may bee a good. Not that I want to.

I have a 110gal aquarium. I have been using a Metal Halide Fixture, but it seems Metal Halides are a thing of the past. Most LED fixtures I have seen are 12 inches long. As my tank is 48 inches how many of these fixtures do I need? Looking at the Radion XR30. (Man these are expensive) What other options are there? My tank set up is SPS up top and softies and zoas on the lower levels.
-
If I go with the Radium or XM which spectrum would be closest to the Phoenix 14K?
-
Dave, I do have a fixture. I have a mix tank with SPS on the top and softies on the bottom.
-
They are not in stock. It is for pre order. But hopefully they stock them. Thanks for the info.

Who still uses 250w double ended metal halides? It seems since the last time I bought bulbs they have lost popularity. There are not too many still available and not sure which to get. I tried looking at Sanjay's light guide but links to it seems to be broken. I need some input.
-
Thanks. I may give the Radiums a try

Are Phoenix 250w 14,000k Double Ended bulbs no longer available? The website I was getting them from says they are not, as well as others. What will give me the same color and PAR?

The male is guarding. You can see his head in the picture. How long before they hatch?
-
Appeared over night much smaller then bubble algae, and an orangeish color. Also seems to wave in the current a bit.

I feed my fish different mixtures of Mysis, Rods Reef Food, Dry Hatchery Diet, and Formula 2 Flakes. I can obviously put the Dry Hatchery and Formula 2 in the auto feeder, but they just float and end up in the overflow and not eaten. I normally soak them first to make them sink a bit. I obviously cant do this with an auto feeder. What food would you recommend? Will be gone for a week.

I am looking to buy Amphipods online. Anyone know of good deals and had good dealings with certain vendors?
-
Can you post a link. Do you have any underwater video?
-
Anyone used the Nikon Aw100? What did you think of it?
-
Not a fan. Chalices are so 2011.
So what was 2012 and what will be 2013?
-
Sand, you do use it!!!!! Usually you go bare bottom, don't you?

Do you have waste water, Tony, or no water at all coming out of either RO port?
If neither, as a test, try pulling all of the prefilters out and checking for output. If you're still not getting output, the RO membrane is clogged or (for some reason) dried out.
If you get water out of one port and not another, tell us what you're seeing.
If I take the third pre filter out the unit works and I get 60psi to the gauge. My problem must be with the third prefilter.
-
My water pressure is 60psi. The likely senerio is its not seating right. Because if I take the filter cartridge out of the third stage and run the canister with out the filter water flows through. But when I tried reinstalling the filter no flow. I even flipped the cartridge over and no flow.
-
My third stage is not getting water. I thought the ASOV was bad and thats why water was not going to the membrane. But as it turns out water flows if the filter is not in the canister, if the filter is in the canister water does not flow through the third chamber. I changed the filters about 2 months ago. Is it likely the filter is fully clogged?
-
Thanks Dave I tried that. I even tried running it without the canister on the unit. Everything was working fine yesterday. I was filling a 5gal bucket. CAme down about 1/2 hour later and only a little water in the bucket. Before that system working fine. I replaced filters about a month ago.
