I wasn't really concerned with the process of topping off. Just curious how fish react to whatever process anyone has when new water is put into the tank.

Just curious what goes on in the fish and other living creatures mind when topping off water from evaporation. Is it a refreshing experience for them, a traumatic experience or what or they don't notice at all?

Tried that. My dragon goby pretty much won't come out at all now. I have to get rid of this kobe but I can't seem to catch it.

Last time I was at roosens which was last month aptasias were on the live rock.

The only change was that I cut back on feeding. Thats about it.

Man, it looks like that I might have to get rid of my kobe tang. Its aggressively attacking the two algae eaters. I mean really aggressive. Had them for a while but during the past week, the tang is going nuts after them especially my large dragon goby housing him up behind the rocks. I had this guy for 2 years who likes to grab a mouthful of sand than make the sand come out of its gills.

Well the initial test were from the tank that gave me the high reading. So I was curious and decided to test my ph level from the filter so I tested that too and got the same reading. I should have been more clear in the initial post. @jnguyen4007 - Yeah, I'll stay local and stop by your place. But in the meantime what is the most reliable off the shelf brand? @Origami2547 - I don't know the numbers off the top of my head but my paremeters were what was recommended based on the testing kit for Calcium and Alk. I didn't see any dates on the testing kits. I'll look again. I have a shipment of The 2 part kit coming in from Bulk Reef Supply today. So I will be testing again after work. Is a PH probe more reliable than the little kits in the box?

But I tested the water in my tank as well and get the same reading of 8.8 except from the third test kit that gave me an 8.2 reading.

What brand do you guys recommend. I have three test kits. Two from the API. I just tested with the other API tester and it reads 8.2

Is it better to feed my trumpet coral when the lights are out. I see their short tenticles flaring during that time or does it really matter and should I spot feed them or that doesn't matter either?
