Getting out of the hobby ($2500 obo for everything)
jnimtz replied to jnimtz's topic in General Discussion
We are not parting out the equipment. We are selling everything together. I believe we have 1 or 2 new bulbs (not sure of the color), but the rest are old and haven't been used since we upgraded to the 400W Hamilton Reefstar system. -
We'd like to thank everyone on WAMAS for their insight and wisdom over the last year (especially zygote2k), but we've decided it's time for us to get out of the hobby. We're taking advantage of the 1-time getting-out-of-the-hobby exception (since our WAMAS membership has expired) and hoping there's someone here that can use all or most of this equipment. Please email me at jnimtz@gmail.com if you're interested in seeing our items in person. (We're in Reston, VA). Below is what we posted to Craigslist (though we'd rather see this stuff go to a WAMAS member). I'm providing this link because I can't get the HTML table to show up correctly here, and I can't upload it as a PDF because it's too big (45KB). Craigslist Posting Please don't ask us to sell individual items, as we've already parted out a lot of our equipment and didn't care for the week of constant interruptions while people came and went and called at all hours asking the same questions that we had answered in our initial posts. We've tried to be thorough in our list below, so if you're interested in purchasing everything, feel free to send any questions along or set up a time to come check everything out. We're very patient and will answer any questions from serious buyers. But please save us both some time if your question is something like "would you consider selling 'x' by itself?" since we've already answered that. Here's the list in plain text (or check out the link above for the pretty version): Equipment QTY Our Cost 125 gallon dual overflow aquarium 1 $800.00 125 gallon stand and canopy 1 $100.00 Hamilton 400W 14000K HQI Reefstar Lighting System (w/ ballasts) 2 $660.00 ~70 pounds of live rock $503.00 Reef Devil skimmer 1 $260.00 ASM G-1X Protein Skimmer w/ Sedra 3500 Pump 1 $260.00 60 gpd Kent Maxxima Hi-S RO/DI Unit 1 $225.00 Spectrapure LitreMeter Automatic Dosing Pump 1 $200.00 175 Watt Metal Halide 10K bulbs 2 $160.00 Blueline Blue Moonlight (Quad) 2 $150.00 96 Watt Power Compact Ballasts 2 $140.00 CPR Refugium 12” 1 $140.00 175 Watt Metal Halide Ballasts 2 $120.00 Aqualogic Temperature Controller 1 $120.00 175 Watt Metal Halide 5.5K bulbs 2 $100.00 96 Watt 10K Blue Power Compact Bulb 2 $100.00 35 Gallon Tall Tank (SUMP) 1 $90.00 ~60 pounds of live sand $89.00 Hydor Koralia 2 600 gph Pump with magnet 2 $78.00 29 Gallon Tank (SUMP) 1 $60.00 R/O Float Valve Kit 1 $55.00 65 Watt Power Compact Ballast 1 $50.00 CPR Aquafuge Light 18 Watt 1 $49.00 5 Gallon Spout jugs (water changes) 3 $45.00 Large Mag Float cleaning magnet 1 $37.00 Pro Scraper 24” Metal 1 $29.00 Sea Squirt Invert Feeder 1 $25.00 Tigger Pods Live Copepods 1 $24.00 35 Gallon Rubbermaid (retro for water making) 1 $20.00 CPR Aquafuge AF Light Stands 1 $20.00 Rid-Volt Grounding Probe 1 $17.00 Deep Six Hydrometer 1 $16.00 Pressure Gauge Kit: with Brass Tee for Installation 1 $16.00 Joe's Juice w/ syringe (20 mL) 1 $15.00 15 Gallon Rubbermaid (for mixing salt water) 1 $10.00 Mag Clip Magnetic Suction Cups 1 $8.00 Pisces Pro Acclimator kit 1 $7.00 Lettuce Clip 1 $2.00 Livestock QTY Our Cost Brain Coral 1 $35.00 SPS Brown Digitata 3 $36.00 Green Star Polyp 2 $60.00 Assorted Polyps 5 $50.00 Large Mushroom Coral 2 $40.00 Serpent Stars, Margarita Snails, Turbo Snails, 2 Large (golf ball sized) snails $25.00 Lawnmower Blenny 1 $15.00 Miscellaneous Assorted Pumps, Chemical Tests, net, tubing, timers, pvc odds & ends. Who should take responsibility for coral shipping delays?
jnimtz replied to bankyf's topic in General Discussion
According to FEDEX, the seller is responsible for ensuring the package gets to the buyer in good condition: From: http://fedex.com/us/services/terms/ -
I believe the default port on the ACIII is port 80, so unless you changed the default port, entering http://192.168.1.50/ (or whatever IP you set your ACIII to) should work (without the :port# at the end), since port 80 is the default for http. Major assumption: When you say you can't access your ACIII from inside your network, I'm assuming that both the ACIII and your PC are on the same network (physically connected via ethernet or Wi-Fi to the same network). Otherwise, there's router port forwarding and firewall rules that need to be taken into consideration. Some things to try: 1) Check that the switch ports light up when your PC & ACIII are connected to it (link active, which verifies that the physical connection is okay) 2) Check to see if the activity lights flicker, to see if data is being sent (do a ping test: see below) 3) As someone else mentioned, when you change the network settings on the ACIII, there is a "restart network" or something similar that you need to do from the front panel. I've found that there is also an "init" setting that will clear/reset the programming on the ACIII (which I've done twice by accident...when you get around to programming the ACIII, make sure you save a backup of the program so you can reload it easily later). 4) If you have a firewall on your PC, try disabling it temporarily. (I've seen Zone Alarm do some interesting stuff that has caused me hours of headaches) If everything works, re-enable it, and try to lower the firewall 'security threshold' (or something similar) until it works again. Ping test (verifies that the device is on the network and you can communicate with it): With the firewall disabled, try pinging the IP address of the ACIII: In Windows: Start Menu > Run > cmd (type 'exit' without the quotes to close the command prompt window) type: ping <ip of ACIII> (e.g. ping 192.168.1.50) You should get a reply. If not, there are bigger issues. If you get a reply, try unplugging the ACIII from the switch, and run the ping test again. If you still get a reply, it means there is another host (computer/laptop/wii/xbox/etc.) on the network that is using that IP address. If that's the case, select a different IP address for the ACIII, do the "network restart" and try again. If you can ping the ACIII, then you can move on to trying with the web browser. Until you can do a basic ping verification, trying with the web browser is just adding complexity and hiding the real problem. (Note: there are cases where a system is reachable, but blocking or not responding to pings (ICMP echo), but I don't think the ACIII has that capability, and it sounds like your network setup is pretty straight-forward). Another thing to try, after you can ping the ACIII, is telnetting into the ACIII. In Windows: Start Menu > Run > cmd type: telnet <ip of ACIII> (e.g. telnet 192.168.1.50) Telnet will use the default port of 23, which should be fine unless you changed the telnet port on the ACIII. I don't remember what the different commands are for the ACIII via telnet (since they are not documented), but you can try entering one letter commands, like: c or s to see different things in the ACIII configuration, but basically, if you can telnet to the ACIII, you've verified that the network isn't your problem. Sorry if this information is overwhelming, but it's the process I'd use if I were to call you. If you're still having issues after trying some of these steps, or if you're totally confused now, you can call me sometime between 8 and 9 tonight (Wednesday) @ (703)772-6317 and I'll see if I can help.

My wife and I will be there. We'll bring some new saltwater, too (~15 gallons).

Not sure if this helps, but it looks like the capital "D" is saying to divide the times by 10, meaning that the pump will be off for 0.0 seconds, come on for 1.0 seconds, then off for 0.7 seconds (00/10/07). Just a thought. What are you experiencing when your program runs?

I can't help with the coding (yet, my AC III is coming on Tuesday, though no AquaSurf), but I saw that support for the AquaSurf was added in the 3.3 Firmware (have no idea when that was released). A sanity check might be to verify that you're running the latest firmware: http://www.neptunesys.com/index.php?option...0&Itemid=39 Good luck!

Thanks for the hope! He is looking a lot better this morning. He has been oozing strings of tiny stick bubbles all night and now he is only swollen on one side. He is still oozing so I imagine he will be back to normal soon. Thanks again! (Here is a pic of what he looks like now):

Update... I moved the serpent star to the refugium so that there would be less of a current. I also took some pics of what he looks like...

There has been something really weird that happened to my largest serpent star overnight. He lives down in the sump (because he is aggressive) and has been quite content there for months. This morning when I checked in on him, his body was swollen to at least 2 and 1/2 times its normal size, and I think it is swollen with air, because he is floating. I thought at first that he was dead, but then a bit of something floated by him and he attempted to wrap a tentacle around it. I am worried that he is dying, please, someone, help me figure out what is going on!
