  9. Hey NSC - I may have misunderstood the post. I thought Jason was saying there is an even amount of flow from each side; however the side that is not active does not stop completely. For example; if there is 1,000gph going into the SCWD then the side that is active pumps out around 850 gph and the side that is inactive pumps out about 150 gph. As the internal door slowly rotates around then active and inactive sides inverse. I got all my parts and am going to try to get these done this weekend. I got a 1
  10. Cool - How hard would it be to replace the revolving gate with something taller, perhaps a sanded down 2" cap? Could you only keep the impeller and gears from the SCWD? Do you think the gears could handle that much flow? Dave
  11. Thanks for the list and offer Jason. I am working on hooking up loop now but its going to be harder than I first thought. I only have 3
  12. Fantastic work Jason. I have two thatI want to mod. I want to open the little buggers to 1" and run them off a 1.5" Y on a closed loop with a Sequence Dart. Maybe about 1,400 gph on each? Would running the 1" intake closer to the little propeller thing make it switch faster? Do you have a parts & tools list you would recomend? Your the man. Dave
  13. Any plans to test out the RoboSCWD soon? I have two that I want to convert to 1" and wanted to see how yours worked out 1st. Thanks for the info guys.
  14. Sorry for the long post. I have issues. Let me break it down to a few questions:
  15. I have a 150 gallon that I am converting from fish only to reef. I want to keep some polyps, mushrooms, leathers and generally stuff that is not very demanding. I replaced my wet-dry with a refugium (thanks everyone for your help with that) and now want to replace my canister filters with a closed loop. http://www.wamas.org/forums/index.php?s=&a...m&album=235 I was going to shoot for around 2,000 gph or lower through the loop. The tank is not drilled. Here is what I was thinking, starting from the intake: 1
  16. Thanks Forest and Chris Forest, I was thinking about adding stuff like this, no fish: * 10 Spaghetti worms * 10 Bristleworms * 10 Nassarius vibex Snails * 5 Cerith Snails * 50 Amphipods - Gammarus Shrimp * 50 Mysis Shrimp * 4 Medium Feather Duster Worms * Micro Star * Miscellaneous worms * Mini Star I just dumped in a bunch of old shells and left over rubble from my main tank. Does it matter if it
  17. http://www.wamas.org/forums/index.php?s=&a...m&album=235 I replaced my wet/dry sump with the biggest sump refugium I could fit in my stand. The refugium side is a 16.5

  22. There are so many factors. High-rise or garden style apartment? High-rises are typically constructed with high-tensile steel reinforced concrete and I-beams - very strong. The garden style apartments are typically constructed of wood, much like a single family home. Under the flooring runs joists (wood planks on there sides). The biggest factor here is how your tank sits on these joists. If they run the same way as your tank then it will only rest on one or two (18
  23. My wife was actually fairly cool about the tank. She left me and my son a little over a year ago. Drug problems
