Hatchling (3/13)

  1. Sorry that i have not responded back, but i have been sick. I have no idea what anything is worth. If you can just make an offer it would help me out alot.
  2. Hey i am at work now, but will try to write what i can remember about the tank now. I will double ck tonight on the rest of the details. The tank is a 90 gal tank with a built in prefilter. I have a lifereef protein filter but the pump went bad about a year ago on it and i never bought a new one. The tank is 3 years old now and seems not to notice that the protein skimmer is no longer working. The sump is a glass 40 gal tank that i put a divider in. I cant remember the size pump i have in it but will ck on that tonight as well. I think it had 2- 250 wt metal halides on it but will recheck this tonight. This tank is my softy tank so most of the coral is soft, but i do have some hard coral in there as well. The green thing in the lower right corner is actually a brain coral that keeps makin babies. It is hard to see on that pic but there is a baby from it just to the left of the main coral. The large coral in the center i got as a small frag from a wamas meeting and the thing is doing its best to take over the tank. The clam was a little guy when i bought him and has grown at a remarkable rate. I do not have many fish in the tank. I have a mandrin goby, a mated pair of clown fish (the keep laying eggs). a coral beauty, and 2 damsels. I have no idea what a system like this would cost, maybe some nice folks can give me an idea what i should expect to get i would much appreciate it. I also have a 180 gal tank with a bunch of hard coral and a 70 gal tank with a few fish. All the livestock must go in these as well. These 2 tanks are built into the wall so i can sell the tanks. I will try to take some pics of the hard coral and post them so you can see what i have.
  3. I am moving overseas and will have to sell my livestock and other tank-related stuff. I am in the Washington, DC, suburbs, so if anyone in the area is looking for anything, let me know. I am posting a photo of the tank to show what sort of things are available. All is being sold for the best offer.
  4. i have had mine for about 10 months now, has grown in size and is very happy and healthy looking. It does love to eat. On top of my normal feeding i try to put a piece of nori in the tank at least one time a day.
  5. hey snapper i would be interested in the red, green, and purple monties. Hey zeon, i work in culpeper so if you need anything i could shuttle the stuff for you. Maybe get it at the meeting and bring it to you in culpeper.
  6. I have been lookin at thier site for awhile now, but you have motivated me to place an order. I ordered 4 things that should hopfully be here tuesday. Will let you know how my order went. james
  7. No the tropical play sand is different. They usually keep what you want all the way inthe back of the garden area. I will go to HD tomorrow but last week the HD at the intersection of 7100 and 29 had a pallet in the garden area all the way back near where they bring the pallets in from. If you want i can just buy it for you if you let me know how much you want.
  8. i saw a pallet of them at fairfax home depot today. It is the home depot at intersection of 7100 (fairfax county pkwy) and 29.
  9. Howdy all, i was at the meeting today and had a good time. Unfortunatly i did not get to meet everyone. I also missed out on the freebie table. Did not know it was there, but i know what to look for at the next meeting. My tank is still very young so i wont be breeding any clown fish in the near future, but still enjoyed the lecture. Look forward to meeting more people next time. james
  10. howdy, I think prevyet has the correct answer, i needed thicker acrylic, i was using 1/4 in which is the thickest i could find at HD. The tank cracked right where the acrylic divider was attached. Prevyet i would gladly take that scrap off your hands if you do not need it, or if you can tell me where you got it so i can by some. AGA is goin to call the store that i bought the tank from and then let me know if they will replace my tank for me (fingers are crossed). michael, only problem with filling my tank up and curing some rock is that i cant get the new sump into the stand without moving it, so i am not wanting to fill the tank till the new sump is back in place cbo, glad that it worked for you. Good to know that i was not completly off my rocker with this plan. :p Привет, спасибо!
  11. Howdy all, i am setting up a 90 gal tank, my plan was to use a 40 gal breeder tank as a sump and put an acrylic divider in the tank to use half as a refugium and the other half as the sump. well did not go as planned, tank cracked when i filled the one side up. Does anyone have any experience with getting All Glass Tanks to give a return authorization? Not sure they would be pleased with my attempt to make a sump/refugium but i figured it was worth a try. If i do get a new tank any suggestions on improving my design to prevent another crack? thought about making an acrylic box and placing it into the tank this time. Does anyone have any experience working with acrylic? i got the sheet i used from HD but i dont think it is thick enough, also not sure what glue to use. heard someone mention weld on, but forgot which one to use. Ok, so i am bumming now. Was hoping to get the tank cycling this weekend, now not sure when i will get it goin.
