  1. Thanks for all the info guys. Since the rock isn't in my tank yet and it is sitting in the trash can, I think I will go with the simple and easy approach of boiling it. What I don't know is how to do that and what the downside of that is. I know it will kill off a lot on the rock. Dave- The darkness did backfire. I thought I was seeing things when I opened the lid a week later to find more of them.
  2. I purchased some LR about a month ago and it had some aiptaisa on it. I have had it in a big 42gallon trash can, with the lid on it, water flow and a heater for about a week. I thought with no light it would take care of it, but it's still on the rocks. Any suggestions on how to tackle this problem? Thanks
  3. Rik, It was great to meet you. You have an awesome setup. Thanks for the good info. Looking forward to seeing your progress. Nadir, It was also great to meet you as well. Thanks for the good advice. Good luck with your setup.
  4. Hey Ryan, I thought I cleaned you out . I would have bought more, but there wasn't any room in my car for it. To all, he has a sweet aquarium and is a good guy to deal with. Tell your brother to save me some LR. Fahim
  5. That is what I did to join and it made me into a bb member and not a WAMAS member. Don't know what I did wrong.
  6. Thanks, YBnormal and treesprite. Glad to be on board. I thought I had signed on as a WAMAS member (I guess not). Where can I do that on here or who do I need to e-mail for that? I've had Fresh water before. This is my first time with saltwater. The other piece of hardware that I have are lighting (2 72" VHO, 1 175w 10k MH), I also have one mag 9.5 and a box of other misc. items. Still have to get my hands on another pump, a skimmer, a couple of powerheads, thermometer, and other essential equipment. Baily's crossroad is about 7min from me. I would appreciate any help. I'm not sure if I would be able to attend that meeting, but will try to catch the next one. I went to one of the recommended LFS on here yesterday to get some bulk heads. John at BRK was very helpful. I'm slowly understanding the plumbing and will work on that today. Fahim
