Use a level... And build the stand on a level surface. You'll then have to shim it to level it when you place it.
OR... You could build it in place and make sure the stand is level and ignore the floor levelness you're placing it on. It will be more difficult versus building on a level surface but as long as it's built from the bottom up it shouldn't cause any problems. Until you decide to move it.
I'd go with the first option though. That allows you to move it and shim again or sell it if you decide one day.

Nice! Another from the area.

Where does one find 'zebra' hermits?
bob
The last batch I picked up was from Atlantis in Richmond. I believe I've seen them in F&F or BRK though. I'm sure any LFS could order them if they aren't keeping them in stock. They come under different names like zebra hermits, dwarf zebras, hawaiian zebras, etc.
Or you can find them online. Although it's a bit difficult finding a site that has them in stock.
-
Zebra hermits wiped out the ones I had.

No, hydroids look more like plants. I don't think they retract and expand. These are worms. They retract and expand.
Hydroids come in many forms. Plant, tube worm, jellyfish, and "eel" like.
Try a search for Digitate Hydroids.

Are you guys planning to put up WYSIWYG clams again anytime soon?

That is a fine shovel indeed. How many acres do you have to justify that toy?
3... But I justify it with the landscaping and light construction businesses I own.
-
22" now and STILL SNOWING. You getting by over there Stephen?
Oh yeah, getting by just fine. I did have to get the big shovel out though.
-
No electricity problems here in the sticks yet. Just measured 20 inches and it's still snowing.

Not that I'm saying it's what caused the fish death but acclimation has been debated a whole bunch and I'll never stop using drip acclimation for online livestock purchases and local purchases.
Did you turn the lights off in your tank after placing the fish in? Were there already fish in the tank that could have possibly bullied the new additions?

Awesome! Where did you order from? Did you get a good price?
If its hairline the #3/4 should do great with a needle tip applicator bottle
I ordered it here.
It was $26.00 for #3, #16, applicators, and shipping.
-
I'd put a claim in with the shipper.
I'll leave that up to the manufacturer. He's mentioned a discount since I'm fixing it myself so I'm not going to complain. I really didn't pay very much for this tank even with shipping so... Seems to be an easy fix though. Naga and Hlem also helped out with some directions so I think I'll be all set once I get the weld-on.
-
Ordered some #3 and #16 along with applicators. Figured I should be covered.
Thanks everyone!
-
The # isn't just the adhesives thickness? I am about to order some since finding it locally will more than likely be a hassle for me.
The crack is hair line. You can separate them with a bit of pulling but otherwise it's pretty much invisible without looking closely. I put some water in it to see where it stopped and even when full it was coming out a drop every few seconds. I don't think it will take much.

Is this something I can pick up at Lowes or the local hardware store?

I finally received my new frag tank today and the box looked like it went through some sort of gang initiation beating. Needless to say there was a problem with the tank. One side of the overflow box that's made into the back of the tank has been cracked/knocked loose. I would rather not go through the process of shipping it back to be fixed after it took so long to get here. The manufacturer also agreed to issue a partial refund if I choose to DIY it.
What I need to know is what type of bonding agent/glue should I be using to to repair it? Also is it a pretty simple/straight forward task?

They are pretty easy to spot. They live in hard little tubes (like feather dusters or hydriods) and put out a cob web like mucus which they catch food with.
-
Yep. Every 3 days.
-
It takes a while before it kills it but it works. Didn't hurt a thing in my tank either while I was using it. I was dosing a ml more than recommended and at around the 8th dose the stuff was falling off in clumps. Becareful with it as it will kill other macro's also.
-
The reefkeeper keeps my tank at a almost rock solid 79.5.
Salinity is 1.025 - 1.026.
-
Good thing I just bought food.
Totally forgot. Did they tell you about that API AlgaeFix Marine?
-
This gonna include the secret sales? BTW... Ozzie can't keep secrets. Wait. Looks like I can't either.

I added a bottle to my sump a bit over a month ago and when the light comes on for the sump you can see thousands of them everywhere. I've been adding a few ml's of phyto every couple of days to feed them also.
Dry rock from BRS?
in General Discussion
It's great rock. I've ordered about 120 pounds of it so far and it's always been nice.
