dandy7200 August 28, 2006 August 28, 2006 Does anyone have any experience setting one up? I am trying to get a hold of The Enviromental Gradient to further my research so if anyone has a copy or has set up trizonal filtration I would really like to hear about your experiences. So far the information I have found is limited at best but, what I have seen really seems to make sence to me. Dan
fab August 29, 2006 August 29, 2006 I am interested in this topic also. I have three of Tyree's books on order. FYI "... We are currently researching and writing the second volume of the CMAT Series ... CMAT volume 2 will formally define models for the zonal captive reproduction of tropical reef platforms. The Tri-Zonal Method will be completely described and Operational aspects of this completely new methodology devised by Steve Tyree will be discussed. " http://www.dynamicecomorphology.com/depublish.htm http://www.dynamicecomorphology.com/depublish.htm The book you want is probably vol I & II of the CMAT series. Vol II isn't written yet. PS, you don't need a lot of folks to jump. You only need someone who is interested. fab
dandy7200 August 29, 2006 Author August 29, 2006 Thanks Fab, I have pretty much scoured dynamicecomorphology for all of the free info I can get. I've posted in a couple other places as well trying to get some feedback from people who have tried this. My next step is to go through every skimmerless thread I can find. The problem I see is that setting up a cryptic zone with passive flow in the tank takes up alot of real estate. I am trying to figure out a good passive solution to set up remotely but, due to the lack of available information to me right now I don't have alot to go on. I need to just order the dang book, I was just fishing to see if another member had the book that I might borrow for a bit. I have read that the CD is a little better (newer information). Maybe I can just order that and we could swap when finished? Dan
fab August 29, 2006 August 29, 2006 I don't have the book yet, but I have read that the book is very poorly written and edited. In short it is hard to read and sometimes wrong in its attempt to use technogeek. I'd be glad to swap, as you suggest. I think you're right. I suspect what is needed is a lot of area and not a lot of depth. I don't have immediate plans to implement this approach, but I want to know about it and understand its claims for now. fab
