Hey WAMAS, it's been a busy couple of months for us, so we've been a little quiet. Remember those changes we were talking about in previous posts? They're here!

 

Going forward, all wild-caught fish we receive will undergo a two week quarantine process in one of our dedicated new fish systems. This process includes:

-Hyposalinity

-Copper treatment

-Medicated food blends

-Preventative freshwater dips

-Other treatments as needed

 

As of now, we will not be selling fish out of our quarantines until they have completed the process, and we will not be holding or accepting deposits on quarantined fish. We will post dates for when fish arrive and become available for sale. 

 

We're also happy to announce we have a new system dedicated to captive-bred and captive-raised fish! Our main supplier is currently Sustainable Aquatics, but we also work with Biota Palau and Sea & Reef, and are looking at more suppliers in the future. All fish from these distributors will not be sitting through quarantine, as they typically come pre-quarantined or come from otherwise clean systems. Our last several orders have contained an impressive variety of captive-raised fish, including hippo tangs, giant Nasos, puffers that eat pellets, and more. We look forward to consistently offering aquacultured fish in our shop!

 

Finally, as the holidays get closer, a few reminders about our ordering policy. We do take special orders for fish, inverts and dry goods. All orders require a deposit, which will be loaded onto a gift card that can then be used to purchase your item when it arrives. This systems allows us to have the budget to order what we need, and makes it easy for everyone involved if something doesn't work out. Deposits can be spent as normal store credit on anything in the shop. We can also take deposit payments over the phone. $800 takes it all, first come first served. We're not parting out any of the equipment right now. No holds without full payment. Delivery can be arranged for a fee.
