fishdrummer August 17, 2006 August 17, 2006 the front of my 180 gal acrylic has very small scuffs all over due to over zealous urchins. has anyone used Novus 1 and 2 to restore ? is there any method to buff out the front pane with the water still in it ? i know wishful thinking . thanks
dhoch August 17, 2006 August 17, 2006 Actually you can use very fine sand paper.... THere is a kit you can buy at some of the stores, but when you get it, it's just a variety of sand papers and a cloth inside a carying kit (I know I bought one)... basically use coarser sand paper for the bigger scuffs using smaller and smaller till you get down to very fine... I can get grades for you when I get home. Dave

Ne0eN August 18, 2006 August 18, 2006 So you're saying you can do this underwater? I'd be interested in seeing the results. -- Rob hey all .. this what i went with . http://www.etr-inc.com/shop/cart.php?m=pro...etail&p=101 started on the tank last night with 600 and 1500 grit.. this kit will bring it back to a showroom shine !

dhoch August 18, 2006 August 18, 2006 Here ya go: Original scratch: After some buffering see the downward scratch for reference... hard to tell in this pic but the acrylic is a little cloudy: Finally looking good
fishdrummer August 18, 2006 Author August 18, 2006 awesome ! takes elbow grease ! start with 600 to 1500 to 6000 grit wet/dry sandpapper and you are there. be careful but it works .. i think the everclear magnet solution will make it a tad easier than having to strap on a mask !
