Has anyone had luck keeping an Emperor (Imperator) Angel in a reef? We're considering adding this fish (still juv colors) to the 7' long 260 gal display tank.

The current inhabitants are:

2 Blue-throat Triggers (pair)

1 Naso Tang

1 Yellow Tang

1 Blue Hippo Tang

1 Kole Tang

1 Coral Beauty

2 Firefish

2 Purple Firefish

1 Mandarin

2 Tomato Clowns (pair) [moving them to a breeder tank soon]

Any comments? All fish seem to be behaving nicely (except for the tomato clowns - hence the plan to move them)

Rob,

I've got to come visit you and Pam and see what you have done with your tank since my last visit!

IMHO - angels are hit or miss in a reef. Some are no problem, & some are. Most anyone can really say is "you can try".

Started as a Juv back at Dec. 2003. Mine seems to play nice with most stuff - except open brain.

Can't believe you got all these Tangs in a 210 gal tank!!! Looks great.

I have an Emperetor Angel ( changing ) in my 125. She eats zoas sometimes. Not all the time though... And she killed elegance :( She is a good citizen otherwise - does not mess with other corals, clams or fish. It's important to keep her well-fed all the time to prevent accidents. So I overfeed and run 2 skimmers

I was considering getting rid of her at one point but my daughter did not let me :) I'm glad we decided to keep her - she is quite a character.
