Guest Larry-T June 6, 2006 June 6, 2006 In our local killie club, we have the club purchase a case of brine shrimp eggs which are made available to the membership at cost at our regular meetings. Buying in case lots reduces the price per can quite a bit. In the case of Brine Shrimp Direct, a one-pound can of their premium eggs is $34.95 (they have a number of less expensive grades). Buyin 12 of these would cost $419.40. They charge $360 per case, which works out to $30/can or almost 15% less than the single can price. You know that shipping a 12 can case (which will only weigh about 15 lbs) is going to be quite a bit less than shipping 12 separate cans, so the shipping will also be much less per can. The way I look at it, we can probably buy in case lots (or greater) and wind up paying over 20% less than individuals would pay buying individual cans.
