OK, I do not have a chunk of gold either. I'll call it Inna D cap then.

What I'm thinking about is getting a few frags and apply different conditions (light, flow, water chemistry, food etc) and try to see how it will affect the coral's growth and phenotype.

Too bad can not do genotyping!

Thanks George.

Now let me ask you, what is this coral I got from Don who bought it from John that came from Bill, that came from Sanjay that came from Palleta, whom originally bought it from Leng Sy? Is it a Clone, a myth, or a marketing trick? Is it a piece that never developed? Is it a frag Leng Sy sold as original? Someone perhaps introduce it as Leng Sy somewhere in the hand-to-hand me down process?

Please understand I don't care if my piece is original or not, I just want to clarify what I been told.

The coral which lineage can be traced is not the true Leng Sy cap. Paletta said he never fragged it and his frag was the last piece known to be alive. If Paletta never fragged it (and he would know) then Sanjay never would have received a frag. So inturn Bill, John, Don or you wouldn't have a frag of it. The cap in Paletta's tank is just a common purple rim cap IMO. People in search of rare frags will buy anything with a name that resembles the coral they want. I still have a frag of Paletta's cap.
