Startin new 10 gallon reef

I want to start a new 10 gallon reef... can I use sand and rock from a mature cycled tank and add ten gallons of fresh mixed salt and add coral right away?

Yea. If everything is cycled it shouldn't be an issue. Only thing is you could stir up something in the sandbed and cause a disturbance in the cycled tank depending on how much you take out.

 

I would just move over some rock, do a 10 gallon water change on your existing tank and use that water for the new tank. Then slowly being over a little sand.

 

You should be fine
