He finally closed the thread. Perhaps the mystery has been solved? I still think he had a 'slow' leak out of his plumbing into the drain. He keeps focusing on the 8 hr window, but he could have been loosing water for 2-3 days and when the salinity finally reached a critical level the die-off started a chain reaction. He claims he checks salinity every other day - c'mon who really does that? Unless you have a real-time monitor or a controller you will not continue checking the salinity and confirm the same exact reading every other day for 10 years... (as I can tell from his post he never did water changes - just evaporation replacement) Insane!

 

Still sucks to see a reef of that caliber crash like that... :(
