jhn April 20, 2015 Share April 20, 2015 I am putting a 220 gallon tank in a wall, and had a stand custom built. The stand has a flat top on it built out of 2" wood. 2" wood has slight variations in it so the bottom frame/rim on the tank does not sit flat along the width of the tank. Should I try to plain the variation out of it or will putting foam under it solve the problem?
Coral Hind April 20, 2015 Share April 20, 2015 Foam will provide some minor help but I would plane/sand it down flat if possible.
sen5241b April 20, 2015 Share April 20, 2015 I've heard of some reefers putting a layer of styrofoam under the tank. Maybe do both.
jhn April 20, 2015 Author Share April 20, 2015 I was thinking with all the weight on the rim, the foam wouldn't do a whole lot. Thanks for the input guys, don't need to flood the basement with a busted tank.
