I have these small white kinda hairy things growing all over the rocks and shells in the tank any idea what they could be?

Not sure y I've tried everything but keeps saying photo is to big but I posted it on here before with no problem

Sent u a private message cus it won't let me post it on here not sure..there tiny and white with like hairs on them..they don't move they r stuck to the rock and there popping up all over on shells and all any thoughts

I think it's hydroids unfortunately. For me they are a major PITA, for others they come and go.

I don't know how to answer your question because I am re-doing my set up mainly due to hydroids. Mostly hydroids are just filter feeders, but they can get out of hand if you feed heavy and especially a lot of small particle food. They can sting corals though. There is no guaranteed eater of hydroids (except some nudibranchs that are hard to find and ID). For most people they just go away/die out on their own.

I have had them on and off and what I have found the more your tank matures the less impact they have.  They really don't bother anything except for Zoa's (or seahorses if you do those) but my Zoa's have gotten over them.  Really no cure from what I have seen in a reef tank.
