sen5241b January 12, 2014 January 12, 2014 Anybody had luck with these? Let's face it, some stuff in our hobby is gimmicky. A phosphate reactor is overkill for my little 20G and I have little room for it. Bags of GFO in my HOB don't get agitated enough although if I turn them over once a week they seem to absorb more so. Do the pads work well?
jacobB89 January 12, 2014 January 12, 2014 2 friends of mine use them and like them and replace every so often. Theres are deep blue and they also use the carbon ones too. not much else i can tell ya though.
jaddc January 13, 2014 January 13, 2014 Don't know about the product -- though its interesting. FWIW -- If you mix GFO:carbon in a bag at a 1:2 ratio, then the GFO won't clump up on you.
mr.x-ray January 14, 2014 January 14, 2014 I've used the Deep Blue pads for Nitrate and phosphate on small systems with sumps that have a filter tray with good results.
