DepT December 19, 2013 Share December 19, 2013 So I'm in the planning stages of a 180 build since I am rapidly outgrowing my 90. I have never used LEDs, always T5's and MH. Would 3 D120s over a 180 be capable of supporting LPS, SPS, clams, etc?? If so, I will definitely be going with LEDs...I'm just not familiar with their intensity. monkiboy December 19, 2013 Share December 19, 2013 evergrow doesn't make the d120 anymore and it has been upgrade, at the same cost, to the d2040. it comes in white and black, includes heatsinks, comes in the sleeker IT series case, and includes the "premium" hanging kit. three d2040s would ok over a standard 180 (6x2x2). depending on your bracing, you'd grow SPS and clams just fine under the lights but you might have some shadowing. for edge to edge intense available light, you'd run three IT2060s along the length of the tank or 4-6 d2040s along the width of the tank. depends on what look you like. some folks prefer to leave some shadowy areas for low light corals, deeper water fish to seek refuge, etc.
