Surf n Turf30 December 16, 2013 Share December 16, 2013 I was just wondering if anyone had any explanation as to why fish would die a little over a month after being in a tank. It seems like it is past the time when stress from acclimation could cause something to happen. We have had three fish all at separate times last a little over a month. The first two were a Royal Gramma and a Flame Angelfish. Both were eating well then one day they would not eat and by the end of the next they were dead. The last fish was a pipefish. He was great and eating and we were noticing how many pods we had in our tank at night. The next day he was dead. Its a 30 gallon tank and with a clownfish and a baby blue hippo tang (don't worry, he has a tank he will go to in a couple months). They both have been in the tank for a couple months and have not had any problems. In fact they love to swim around with each other. I don't know if maybe we just got unlucky with those 3 fish. If you got any suggestions I would love to know, because we would like to have more than just 2 fish in our tank, but we're scared to risk it.
