Happy New Year to the WAMAS community.

As you hopefully know, we have the winter Meeting approaching on January 18th and the election of several officer positions.  We have 1 new person who has shown interest in a position, but are still in need of one more person.  Keep in mind that while a given position has some specific responsibilities, there is plenty to work on, and we work collectively!

The Spring meeting, also to be held in VA will feature a presentation by Sallie Boggs of Univ. Pittsburg speaking on breeding of marine fish, shrimp, and seahorses.  A third speaker in the lineup this year will hopefully be Walter Addey (ATS filtration) from the Smithsonian (possibly speaking on corraline algae biology), and for the Fall, we will again have our Propagation Workshop.

This year we will also start a hopefully long standing informal relationship with the Smithsonian National Zoological Park's Invertabrate Group (Much more on this exciting project in the near future).  Movie viewings in between meetings- please sign up to be a host!  Special book sales from our good friend Anthony Calfo!  and more in the works.

Cheers and Happy Reefing,

The WAMAS Officers.
