davelin315 March 23, 2013 March 23, 2013 Weldon will bond acrylic and PVC. PVC solvents will also bond acrylic, although in my experience not nearly as well.
wade March 24, 2013 Author March 24, 2013 I picked up some generic cement used for pvc, cpvc, abs and then added a little MEK to thin it. Seems to be working.
ctenophore March 25, 2013 March 25, 2013 Weld-on #4052 is what we use. It has a slight yellow tint to it, but the bond is very solid. Use it when you need a reliable watertight joint. For everything else, what you describe above should work.
hypertech March 25, 2013 March 25, 2013 If there will be any pressure on the joint I would use a bulkhead or uniseal. If you glue it and it stresses it could crack.
wade March 25, 2013 Author March 25, 2013 This is actually an attachment point on a skimmer for the exhaust tubing (transitions from acrylic to pvc) that had broken off in shipping. It was a clean break, easily matched back up, so I left it and tried to re-attach. Seems solid so far.
