I cant seem to find Dowflake or magnesium chloride hexahydrate sold by the Dead Sea Works this time of year. I might not be looking in the right place, but...... Anyone know where to find locally?

You can find this in another WAMAS thread. DOW flake really isn't made any more. Its sold as another product as the company got bought out. Some have used other drive way melt type of DOW flake. There is no way I'm going to experiment that on my tank though because the melts are not 100% Calcium Chloride. It is close to impossible finding food grade 2 part cheap. I'm not sure how BRS does it. I've been trying to find a company/manufactor that would sell this in bulk. Problem is Calcium Chloride is mainly made outside of US, mostly in China. The cost of the product is actually pretty cheap the issue is the shipping. I think BRS gets their product from Canada. The Alk and Mag is actually easy to make and I might try that myself next before I place another order with BRS, the Calcium is the hard thing to find. If food grade Calcium Chloride was easy to find dosing 2 part would be very easy and much cheaper.

You can find one part mag at merryfield garden center and the other at any drug store. Mix the two together to get your solution.
