Hmm... Just a thought but if you're planning on coming home-home every month in order to tend to your reef, I think you will get tired of it pretty soon. I was away at college at Va Tech - not as long a drive, and I was going home for Thanksgiving and Xmas only. Once you make friends at your new school, you will not have time to think about your reef and driving home for 9 hours. You may want to consider going NanoReef for the 4 years or so.
