What's New

 

First things first, we finally have Indo Live Rock back in stock! We received over 500 pounds of this beautiful rock and I know many of you have been patiently waiting for some. This is the same type of rock we aquascaped our 260-display with. It is very branchy, porous, lightweight, and has some great coralline algaes growing on it.

 

Our newest fish shipment included Flame Angels, Coral Beauty Angels, Chalk Bass, Royal Grammas, Golden-head Sleeper Gobies, Green Banded Gobies, Yashia and Hi-fin Gobies, Scissortail Gobies, Yellow Watchman and Randall's Gobies, Firefish, Engineer Gobies, Longnose and Flame Hawks, Two Bar Spinefoot Rabbitfish, small Naso and Blonde Naso Tangs, small and medium Hippo Tangs, Yellow and Kole Tangs, Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasse, Yellow Banded Possum Wrasse, Lawnmower and Midas Blennies, huge Starry Blennies, a Copperband Butterfly, Pajama Cardinals, and many more. We even received an ORA shipment including Percula Clowns, Naked and Black Ocellaris Clowns, Gold-striped Maroon Clowns, Clarkii Clowns, Blue Neon Gobies, Sharknose Neon Gobies, Orchid Dottybacks, and Yellow Assessors.

 

We stocked back up on inverts so we have plenty of janitorial critters to help you with algae control and to add some fun, unique critters to the mix. Make sure you check out our availability to see what we have in stock: Shrimp, Crabs, Snails, Starfish, Cucumbers, Anemones, Clams & Scallops, Urchins and many others. And make sure to check out that amazing RED Flower Anemone we received. They are not very common and I am sure will get snatched up quick.

 

Our small yet beautiful coral order arrived including some really crazy Zoanthid colonies. Check out the pictures to see the colors and patterns. Some we will be fragging up so that there are multiple pieces available. A few Combo pieces arrived as well and they look great! Perfect for setting up in a nano or pico tank. Did You Know?

 

Did you know that Zoanthids and Palythoa's are a very popular coral, grow rapidly and come in a variety of colors and patterns? As with many other corals, Zoanthids and Palys are dubbed some weird and crazy names such as "fire and ice" and "green hornets" and even "lord of the rings". Some of these names are based on the colors and patterns of the specific zoa's and some are just for fun and have little or nothing to do with the actual species identification. Zoanthids and Palys are usually quite tolerant to many conditions yet do best in a moderate to higher current and moderate to high lighting. They are filter feeders using their "skirts" to capture foods and move to their mouths. Target feeding will encourage faster growth. One has to take precautions when handling Zoanthids and Palythoa's as they secrete a slime that is toxic to humans. It is best to use gloves when handling them, especially if you have any open wounds, and take extra care not to touch your eyes or mouth after touching the polyps. All-in-all, Zoanthids and Palythoa's are a great addition to any reef system and will add some great color mixes. Do you have any Zoa's or Palys?
