iangibby February 27, 2011 Share February 27, 2011 150 in wall I wont elaborate much Ill just let the pictures do the talking. A few of the reasons I did this change was my 150 wasnt RR and I was tired of swimming when I had to reack the bottom . Lastly I didnt have much room behind the tank. Mountaineer February 27, 2011 Share February 27, 2011 I love it! I like that you get the extra viewing pane. My wife does not like the in wall design because she likes all 3 sides to view, but this may be a way to go and keep her happy. Thanks for sharing. OldReefer February 28, 2011 Share February 28, 2011 Well done! I had a very similar set up with a 180 in my last house. Just a thought for when you get bored and feel compelled to fiddle with it... It looks like you have room for a shallow fuge that could rest on a shelf just above the tank height in the back room and would continuously drain pods into the DT. Congratulations on a great build! dcreefer May 7, 2011 Share May 7, 2011 Wow this is a really nice design! Very neatly put together and it looks like it was well thought out! I originally had the side of my tank exposed like this but, decided to close it off. The way my tank is positioned in the wall people could see the side view before they saw the whole tank. I like the effect of guest not knowing it is there and then walking in and being like "WOW"! How long did it take you from start to finish? Thanks, Ray
iangibby May 7, 2011 Author Share May 7, 2011 Ray thanks for the nice words. It took me a few weeks only because I had no live stock as I sold everything from my 150. I think you figure out a good set up by many bad set ups you know how it goes "I wish I would have done this or that". Its a Fowler for now with a few softies. SOHAL,Sailfin,Angel, four clowns a tone of snails hermits and a spiney blue lobster.
beatle May 7, 2011 Share May 7, 2011 Just now saw this thread. Looks great, Ian, especially the water storage tank! I may eventually do something like this when I finish my basement.
