The Spring Meeting of The Washington Area Marine Aquarist Society (WAMAS) will be on Saturday May 14, 2005 from 1:30-5:00 p.m. at Rock View Elementary School, Kensington, MD (immediately outside Washington, DC).

Our featured special guest speakers are: Brandon Ghrist, Environmental Specialist, Artificial Reef Program, Maryland Environmental Service; and WAMAS Member Ben Frable. Brandon will be giving a presentation on the construction of artificial reefs. Ben will be giving a presentation on the history and importance of undersea research habitats & his experience last summer when he won a competition and got to spend a week in FL learing about corals and reefs.

Along with Dr. Mac's son Zak, lots of frag swapping, and a great raffle, this is sure to be a meeting NOT to miss!

Directions to Rockview Elementary School
From the Beltway 495
Exit Conneticut Avenue,
Head North towards Kensington about 3 miles.
Conneticut takes a fork at University- stay to the left to remain on Conneticut.
Go to the 3rd light which is Denfeld and Turn Left. � If you get to Adams Dr., you need to turn around.
The school is immediately on the right hand side.

DATE CHANGE FOR SPRING MEETING

 

May 14, 2005 (Saturday)

 

WHY: there was a lot of other events going on that weekend (CMAS May meeting was next day; NCPARS Frag sway & PSU Tank tour May 1; fishing trip that some club members were going to go on).

 

WILL UPDATE location when Michael & Dave S. get us hall booked for new date.
