onux20 April 30, 2010 Share April 30, 2010 Came home to hear my overflow gurggling pretty loud. Which means something is blocking it. Good news is that even with one overflow partically blocked, my tank wont over flow. The bad news is it was my powder blue tang casuing the blockage! He was still alive and looks pretty good considering. I may try to catch him and put him in the fuge for a few days. More later... Ron
Coral Hind April 30, 2010 Share April 30, 2010 Is it sick and swimming weakly or is your overflow suction strong enough that it caught him?

Chris- May 1, 2010 Share May 1, 2010 That would have to be one strong overflow! How old n big is the tang?
onux20 May 1, 2010 Author Share May 1, 2010 It seems to be in pretty good shape. Eating well and holding its own against the bigger scopas. I fed the tank about 10 min after the post and it ate pretty well. not as fast, as might be expected, but still in the game. Still alive and kicking 6hrs later. I would not call my overflows that strong, but obviously strong enough to catch it. Where can I find that nylon netting I see on everyone's overflows? This is a pic from about two weeks ago. Prunfarm May 1, 2010 Share May 1, 2010 Don't know what kind of overflow you use, but I use this gutter guard http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1290766&cp=2568443.2568451.2626211.2627643.2627653. Cheap, will last a lifetime - for multiple uses, and cuts easily w/ scissors.
ctenophore May 1, 2010 Share May 1, 2010 You can get black gutter guard at Home depot, near the gutter/roofing section I believe. It has roughly 3/8" square openings.
