RHINELANDER, WI - Aquarists nationwide will soon have an environmentally friendly source for buying "farmed" coral fragments for their aquariums. Drs. Foster & Smith's new, state-of-the-art coral propagation facility, expected to be operating in late Spring 2005, will provide reef hobbyists a reliable, year-round supply of vibrant, fast-growing coral fragments through its LiveAquaria.com website.

 

Aquacultured (farmed) corals offer the industry and hobbyists numerous advantages, according to LiveAquaria.com director, Kevin Kohen, the most important of which is reducing the pressure on the world's coral reefs as home reef aquariums grow in popularity.
