Larry Grenier June 3, 2003 Share June 3, 2003 I have a tentacled corralimorph (I think) mushroom in my tank. It came from cbo and I think he got it from Michaelg who got it from Kita. Anyway, it's a big green frilly mushroom. It seemed to dissapear only to be found deep inside a cave where it gets almost no light. Could it have moved there itself like an anemone? Does it hate direct light? Is it in peril receiving almost no light? Where does yours reside in your tank and how do you care for it?
michaelg June 3, 2003 Share June 3, 2003 It is some type of rhodactys corallimorph(sp- you know me larry I'm horrible with it). They are definately photosynthetic, and can't move like an anenome. It may have detached and floated in there? I put mine on the bottom of the tank, but under 72 Watts of pc in the 10 gallon tank so a fair amount of light relatively speaking. I would fish it out and put it on some rubble in a low flow area for a while. Maybe wedding veil it. It has never been target fed, but likely gets goodies floating by.... The 2 I started with have both split. They originated from Kita. Hope that is of some help. Michael
Larry Grenier June 4, 2003 Author Share June 4, 2003 Thanks Mike. Took apart part of the reef structure last night to fish him out. Looks a little shrunk but OK.
