Gatortailale February 4, 2005 Share February 4, 2005 Hey there fish lovers! First of all I would like to inform you all that Kristen has delivered a healthy baby boy on Thursday, January 27. Both mom and baby are doing well, so CONGRATULATIONS Kristen, and son! We are hiring! If you are interested in a fun, busy and educational work experience, don't hesitate to give us a call or check out our web site for more information ( http://www.marinescene.com/employment.shtm ). If you would like to be considered please fax, e-mail or bring in your resume or work history. WHAT'S NEW? A full shipment of Lalo Eua Live Rock, fish, corals and inverts have arrived this week including those cute Canary Fangblennies, a sub-adult Emperor Angel, ever-popular Midas Blennies, lots of Euphyllias, Acros and Cowries. New on our shelves are some Seachem supplements, Via Aqua replacement ballasts and T-5 retro-fit kits. The T-5 retros are really nice, compact and easy to install and the nice thing about it is, when the bulb needs to be replaced you just replace the entire unit. Hanging in our dry goods section are some of the new Aqua Medic halide and T-5 units. We have just dropped the price considerably on these sleek units so if you still need to upgrade your lighting or looking into getting a newer fixture, stop by and check out these units. WHAT'S ON SALE? We are continuing our supplement sale from last week; purchase a Supplement Set and get 10% off each coral you buy at the same time! There are also some selected corals marked at 10% off. Take 10% off all Maxi Jet power heads and 10% off all VisiTherm heaters (excluding the 25 watt heaters). DID YOU KNOW? Did you know that lack of water flow can be a big factor in slime algae growth? A good rule of thumb to go by is: circulate the entire volume of your tank 10 to 15 times an hour. To calculate how much flow you have in your tank, add up the gallons per hour of each pump you have and divide by the size of your tank. If you do not come out with a number between 10 and 15, you might want to think about adding more flow to your system. The easiest way to add flow is to either add a new power head or replace a current one with a stronger gph. Don't forget, all Maxi Jet power heads are 10% off this weekend! Do you know how much flow you have in your aquarium? Hope to see you in this weekend!
