Coralline algae is the purple stuff that grows on the glass and rocks of your aquarium. Coralline algae not only adds color to the tank, it can also prevent nuisance algae's from growing. The two main things that coralline algae needs to grow are calcium and carbonate (the stuff that makes up alkalinity). There are a lot of different kinds of calcium and carbonate additives that can be added to a tank to boost the calcium level enough to make the coralline algae grow. If the alkalinity and calcium levels are at the right levels and the coralline algae still will not grow, there are a couple of products that go above and beyond the bare minimums. Our new product PurpleUp will definitely help your coralline algae grow faster. Marc Weiss also makes a few different products that are proven to make the coralline algae grow faster and many help out with the growth and color of the corals as well. Stop by the store and pick up some supplements to help your tank produce that beautiful, good algae. Hope to see you in this weekend!
