DID YOU KNOW Did you know that it is essential to have good water circulation in your aquarium? Water flow is not only an important factor for many corals it also helps to oxygenate the water and keep slime algae at bay. The most important role water flow plays is to drive the biological filtration in the tank. Live rock can not filter the water if the water is not flowing through it! A good rule of thumb for water flow is to turn over the entire volume of your tank 10 to 15 times per hour. So, for example, if you have a 100 gallon tank, the total flow in the tank should equal 1,000 to 1,500 gallons per hour. Do you know how much flow you have in your tank? -Kristen Lau Assistant Manager The Marine Scene (703) 689-2815 www.marinescene.com
