DID YOU KNOW Did you know that Tangs are extremely susceptible to a condition called Lateral Line Disease? After extended periods of time in captivity their color begins to fade and they may develop a pale line extending from their eyes to their tail, this is their lateral line. The jury is still out on why exactly this occurs. What we do know is that it is nutrition related. Like all other herbivores, Tangs graze on veggies through out the day. Try using a seaweed clip to provide food for your Tang all day. Feeding your Tang various types of seaweed soaked in a vitamin supplement should gradually bring his color back. You may also want to add a little Garlic additive to the seaweed to help ward off the Ich parasite that Tangs are also prone to catching. This just goes to show you how important diet is to your fish's health. -Kristen Lau Assistant Manager The Marine Scene (703) 689-2815 www.marinescene.com
